DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
To provide the state-of-the-art technology to enable the students to meet the growing global
challenges of engineering industries and organizations through proper utilization of resources.
To impart technical knowledge through innovative teaching-learning process and conduct
seminars, conferences and workshops.
To provide dedicated, disciplined and dignified Electrical and Electronics Engineers to support the
power sector.
To motivate the Electrical and Electronics Engineers to focus on the non-polluting renewable
sources of energy.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) I. To impart a fundamental knowledge needed for the practice, or advanced study in Electrical and
Electronics engineering in such application areas as electric power, communications and controls.
(Depth).
II. To produce quality graduate with broad education necessary for productive careers or the pursuit
of graduate education, including knowledge of important current issues in Electrical and
Electronics Engineering. (Breadth).
III. To mould our graduates with strong communication skills, professional responsibilities, to
effectively function as members and leaders of multi-disciplinary teams. (Professionalism).
IV.To know that the Electrical and Electronics engineering education is a wise investment and will
continue to develop their knowledge and skills after graduation. (Lifelong learning).

Program Outcomes (POs)
1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering
specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching
substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components
or processes that meet the specified needs with appropri ate consideration for the public health and safety, and the
cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of
experiments, analysis and interpretation of dat a, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools
including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety,
legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice .
7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and
environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering
practice.
9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in
multidisciplinary settings.
10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with
society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make
effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management
principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in
multidisciplinary environments.
12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for , and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life -long
learning in the broadest context of technological change.
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
PSO1: Real World Knowledge- Apply the knowledge in solving the real time problems and solutions to issues and
challenges in Electrical and Electronics Engineering technologies.
PSO2: Interdisciplinary Skill- Design and develop interdisciplinary and innovative system.
PSO3: Personality Development – Imparting effective communication, team work and leadership skills for a successful
career in industry and R&D

ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES
The inauguration of EEE association (DYNAFEST 2017-18) ,IQAC,IE(I)
Student Chapter and IEEE student branch activities for the academic
year 2017-18 was held on 10.07.2017. Mr.B.Karthikeyan, Director,
Thick India corporate trainer, Coimbatore, inaugurated EEE
association IE (I) Student Chapter and IEEE student branch activities.
“Tesla Day Celebration” celebrated on 10.07.2017, organized by
Department of EEE, Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Erode
Students are participated on various events like PPT, Multimedia
presentation about the Tesla inventions.
National Level Students’ Technical Symposium DYNAFEST ’17 held
on 30.08.2017 and 31.08.2017. Our Chief Guest Mr. S. P. Sivakumar
I.P.S, Thiru. G. Kamalamurugan, President, Thiru.S. N. Thangaraju,
Secretary and Thiru. Y.S.Mathivanan, Correspondent visited during
this function.
National Level Students’ Technical Symposium (Paper Presentation)
held on 30.08.2017. Dr.R.Balamurugan, Associate Professor, KSRCT,
Tiruchengode was the chief guest of paper presentation of this
function.

National Level Students’ Technical Symposium (Technical Quiz) held
on 31.08.2017. Dr.S.Saravanan, Associate Professor, Erode Builders
Engineering and Technology, Nathakadaiyur, Erode was the chief
guest of this Technical quiz of this function.
National Level Students’ Project Contest held on 30.08.2017 and
31.08.2017. Mr.S.P.Sivakumar I.P.S, DSP, Erode has visited our
department and encouraged the student’s project presentation.
One day national level workshop on the topic “Multi SIM and JAVA
Simulator” was conducted on 31.08.2017. Mr. L. Vijay Anand,
AP/EEE, Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Erode was the
resource person. More than 100 polytechnic students were
participated in this workshop.
IEEE-SPAC (IEEE-Student Professional Awareness Conference) was
conducted on 19.09.2017. The resource person was
Ms. R. Sasiprabha, Assistant Professor, Department of commerce,
PKR Arts and Science College for women, Gobichettipalayam.

TNSCST sponsored National Level Seminar on the topic “Avenues
and Opportunities of OLED in Engineering and Research” was
conducted on 26.09.2017. Dr.P.Rajan, Senior Manager, AARK
Minerals, Perundurai was the resource person. More than 200
students were participated in this seminar.
Guest lecture on the topic “Tech-Life 2020” was conducted on
26.09.2017. Dr.P.Rajan, Senior Manager, AARK Minerals, Perundurai
was the resource person. More than 100 students were participated
in this lecture.
PAPER PRESENTED BY THE STUDENTS
B. Indhumathi & M. Kowsalya of II year EEE presented a paper on the topic “Renewable source of
energy” conducted by Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai on 22.09.2017.
R.Kirubakaran of III year EEE presented a paper on the topic “Solar tree” conducted by Sengunthar
Engineering College, Tiruchengode on 22.09.2017 & 23.09.2017.
C.Princy and S.Gowthami of III year EEE presented a paper on the topic “Biomass briquetting plant
for power generation” conducted by Sona College of Technology, Salem on 25.09.2017.
B. Poonkuzhali and S. Vaishnavi of II year EEE presented a paper on the topic “Solar power
satellite” conducted by Dr.N.G.P Institute of Technology, Coimbatore on 23.09.2017.
R.Dhanushya and L.Sangeetha of II year EEE presented a paper on the topic “Smart Grid”
conducted by Dr.N.G.P Institute of Technology, Coimbatore on 23.09.2017.

WORKSHOP ATTENDED BY THE STUDENTS
P. Arulkumar of IV year EEE attended workshop on the topic “Hands on training android app
development using MIT app inventor” conducted by Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology,
Coimbatore on 10.01.2018.
CONGRATULATIONS
Dr.P.Selvan presented Tamilnadu Transmission study report to the Government of
Tamilnadu through FICCI on 8.12.2017.
