Other Types of Electoral Systems
O Proportional RepresentationO Voters vote for a party, both nationally and
regionally. Whatever percentage of the overall vote a party receives in the election is the percentage of seats of seats it will be allotted in the government. This system allows different groups to share power.
O FPTP – Proportional RepresentationO Voters cast 2 votes, one for a representative in their
riding and one for the party of their choice.O Preferential Ballot
O Citizens vote once, listing their top three choices of candidate. The winner by this means receives a majority of the votes.
