The goods and services shown below are those we provide to Eirene
customers. All items listed in our packages are required. Separate
packages for children and infants, as well as additional charges that
may apply to our standard package, are outlined below.
Eirene’s direct cremation packages do not include any burial services,
use of the facilities and staff for funeral ceremonies, memorial services
or embalming.
Unless otherwise specified, prices shown do NOT include applicable HST.

Payment is due in full prior to transfer into
our care. We accept all major credit cards,
debit credit cards, cash and cheque. Payment
plans are also available to meet most
budgets. Financing charges apply to payment
plans.
Financial assistance for cremation / hydrolysis
services is available through various
governmental agencies, to those who qualify.
The Minimum Services charge represents the minimum non-declinable
services required to facilitate the disposition of a deceased person,
whether by cremation or hydrolysis (also known as “aquamation”).
This minimum service charge is applicable to every family we serve and
includes transferring the deceased from the place of death (or Coroner’s
Office, hospital, airport, etc.) to our holding room, where the deceased
will be placed in a casket of your choosing and securely held until the
necessary documentation is completed for cremation or hydrolysis, as
applicable. Once the required documentation is ready (i.e., death has
been registered and if applicable, the coroner’s certificate for cremation
/ hydrolysis has been obtained), the deceased is transported in a service
van or SUV to the crematorium or hydrolysis facility at the earliest
practicable opportunity or at a scheduled time, as applicable.

We offer the following additional services, which are optional:
Additional body preparation services - $0It is our policy that human remains be identified whenever possible. Theidentification may be made by anyone who knew the deceased, including arelative, friend, neighbour, co-worker, or clergy person. While identificationof a body is possible with the minimum required preparation, you may wishto consider opting for “basic preparation of remains,” as it might afford amore peaceful final viewing experience. One of our funeral directors will beable to guide you on preparation options and make recommendationsbased on the condition of the body.
We do not charge any additional fees for a final ID.
Witnessing - $550If a family would like to witness the cremation or aquamation of their lovedone, we can accommodate a witness at your preferred crematorium orhydrolysis facility. Each facility will have a capacity limit for the witness anda licensed funeral director will be present to guide you through the process.
Pre-ArrangementsFor services that are being arranged pre-need, we offer two funding
options when prepaying services or supplies:
Trust: You pay for the services and supplies at today’s price and we will placeyour money in a trust account, where it will accrue interest until the prepaidcontract is fulfilled (when the services and supplies are delivered). Pre-payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit. Funds are held in the
purchaser’s name.
Insurance: You may purchase an insurance or annuity policy through us,where the proceeds of the insurance / annuity policy will be used to pay forthe services or supplies at the time they are delivered. Payment may be madeby credit card or cheque for single payments. Time payment plans may bemade by credit card or pre-authorized chequing. The policy is held in yourname and assigned to the transfer service. Terms and conditions and
cancellation policies are set by the Insurance Company.
Guarantee: When paid in full in accordance with the payment terms set out inthe prepaid contract, the prepaid contract is guaranteed. The total payment(s)made plus interest / growth earned will be applied to the future price of theservices and supplies. If the total payment(s) plus interest / growth earned areinsufficient to cover the total future price of the prepaid services and supplies,we will absorb the difference as a loss. Any funds in excess of the total futureprice of the prepaid services and supplies will be returned or applied towardadditional services, supplies and disbursements purchased at the time ofneed, as applicable. Conditions apply. Any changes to the prepaid contractmay result in the prepaid contract being null and void and a new contract
being executed with current pricing at the time changes are made.

Cremation Container $100
We provide a cremation container suitable to your loved one's weight for
transportation to the crematorium (see below for cremation container details).
Unlimited Proof of Death Certificates $55
We provide an unlimited amount of Proof of Death Certificates. Our certificates are
accepted for most estate settlement purposes, but sometimes a provincial 'Death
Certificate' will be necessary and is available from the Office of the Registrar
General. The Eirene team is available to help you apply for certified certificates, if
necessary.
Return of Loved One’s Cremated Remains $100
Our package includes hand-delivery of the cremated remains to the executor or next
of kin. We require ID and signature at the time of delivery.
Sheltering Fee $230
This fee is for sheltering your loved one in a secure and refrigerated facility while the
necessary paperwork is completed.
Services of Licensed Funeral Director and Staff $650
Professional consultation with licensed personnel, including but not limited to
expert advice on options to meet your needs, drafting notices, and advice regarding
possible government benefits. Coordination of all activities before, during and after
they have been provided by us, and those provided by third-party suppliers, such as
the crematorium and media outlets (death notices). Also included are overhead
expenses such as maintenance and utilities, accounting and office administration,
insurance and 24-hour access to emergency assistance.

Transfer into our Care $395
This fee is for the transfer of your loved one from their place of passing into our care
facilities across Southern Ontario. It includes the cost of sending extra transfer staff
to the place of passing if required (free of charge).

Completion and filing of all documents necessary to carry out services and supplies
requested, including, but not limited to, death registration, burial permit, coroner's
certificate for cremation, and documentation necessary to ship the remains within
Canada or out of the country.

This service is a minimum requirement. The body is checked for personal effects
(which will be returned to the authorized representative, unless otherwise
instructed) and placed into the casket selected. We can also accommodate a basic
preparation of the remains such as bathing, dressing and setting facial features for
no additional charge.
This fee covers the following:
Pacemaker Removal Free of charge
In the case of a pacemaker being present, we will remove the pacemaker at no extra
cost to the family. The removal of a pacemaker or medical implant will be carried out
by a licensed Funeral Director and must be completed when cremation is the final
disposition.

Contact information is provided for all relevant government agencies
Form letters are provided for all necessary functions. They will fill out essential
letters, send them to the executor for signature, and deliver to the relevant
agencies and businesses

confirmation certificate
Provide access to customer support by phone or email to help with any issues

includes access to the Closing Affairs Connected website. This widely used guide for
executors and administrators will give you detailed instructions on completing the
tasks associated with closing an estate, with or without a will.
Overview:
CPP & OAS Application Free of charge
When an Old Age Security (OAS) and Canada Pension Plan (CPP) beneficiary dies,
their benefits must be cancelled. Our team of licensed funeral directors will fill-out
and send all required paperwork to help you cancel the benefit. We will also assist
families with CPP Death Benefit applications.

This is a fee charged by the coroner for issuing a certificate that allows cremation to
take place. The fee is set by the Chief Coroner of Ontario. HST exempt.

This fee is for the private cremation of your loved one and the transfer from our
storage facilities to the crematorium. Cremation fees may vary based on
crematorium. Our crematorium partners provide a complimentary, temporary
container for the cremated remains.
In addition to our standard Eirene package above, additional fees may apply as
outlined in the cases below.

Oversize Care For people greater than 500lbs, an oversize care fee applies. The fees listed below
are in addition to the standard Eirene package and are required to ensure the
proper handling of a body.
This fee includes the cost of transfer into our care, storage and proper staff.

Unclaimed Cremated Remains $350
In the event that cremated human remains in the possession of the operator (Eirene
Cremations Inc.) are unclaimed, the purchaser will be charged an unclaimed
remains fee to the credit card on file, as per our terms and services.
An operator having possession of unclaimed cremated human remains that were not
in the possession of the operator for the purposes of interring or scattering shall
retain them until they are claimed or interred in a cemetery, whichever is earlier.
If cremated human remains are not claimed within one year from the date of
cremation and if the operator has made reasonable efforts to contact the purchaser
of the cremation service or the personal representative or family member of the
deceased, as applicable, the operator may have the remains interred in a cemetery,
including in a common lot in a cemetery.
If cremated human remains are claimed before they are interred under subsection,
the operator shall refund the credit card charged for the interment.

Caskets and cremationcontainers
Eirene will use a cremation container suitable to the weight of your loved one to
ensure proper handling and safety. The fixed cost of your cremation container
and additional taxes are included in our package prices.
The following caskets listed are those generally available. Additional options are
available upon request. Unless otherwise noted, all caskets listed are standard
adult size.
For cremation: A body must be presented to the crematorium in a rigid, leak-
proof casket that is made of a combustible material, such as wood or cardboard.
Caskets containing non-flammable, hazardous material or chlorinated or fibre-
reinforced plastic, other than incidental metal, cannot be used for cremation. We
offer a selection of inexpensive caskets below that are suitable for cremation.
For hydrolysis: A casket is not used for hydrolysis (also known as “aquamation”).
In some circumstances, a hydrolysable container or shroud may be required. For
more information on this alternative method of disposition, please speak with
one of our licensees, or refer to the Bereavement Authority of Ontario’s Consumer
Information Guide.
