What is it?

The eHandbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care for Healthcare Providers

includes important information and treatment recommendations from the

2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary

Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This eHandbook is the

electronic version of our popular quick- reference tool.

How To Download & Install The content of the eHandbook is contained and packaged within an application (app) that must be downloaded and installed on the iPad or iPhone. Since it is a book within an app, there will be a second step to download and open the book.

Follow the directions below for installation and use:

1. Open the app store on your device

2. In the search bar at top right enter “2010 handbook” and the suggested results will narrow down to only one option. (You can also search ecc, aha, and a list of other keywords but those will also pull up other app options)

3. Tap the $20.99 button next to the app; it will change to buy app, tap the button again

4. Enter your apple id and password to begin the download

5. The app will automatically download onto your device

6. Once downloaded, open the app; the handbook will appear with a download icon next to it

7. Tap the download button to complete the install and begin use

8. If you have multiple Apple devices, any that are synced to the same iTunes account should be able to access the app for free in the App store once it has been downloaded to the primary device

* A Pixelmags login window may pop up for first time users. Simply ‘cancel login’ to bypass and access the handbook

The eHandbook takes advantage of the features of the iPad

o Pages can be viewed horizontally as a double page spread

o If you turn the iPad vertically you can view the pages individually

o You can swipe the pages to turn to the next page or move through multiple pages

o You can pinch and zoom anywhere on the page to expand that area of information or quickly tap twice on the area you want to zoom

o Use the top menu bar to search, see a drop down menu of contents, or bookmark
