Early Years Centre
I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. I have now had the chance to see most of you and have already started to make new friends in all the rooms in the Centre. My name is Tony Dooling, as you may know I have taken over from Tracy here at the EYC. I have been working in childcare since 2001 and have worked in a range of settings and helped provide the best start to many, many children over the years. I have managed settings to receive "Outstanding" by Ofsted and strive to deliver the best for the children in my care. My latest study was at Winchester, where I gained "Early Years Professional Status" (EYPS), this was awarded after receiving my Degree in Early Childhood Studies. I am currently living just north of Salisbury and all of my childcare experi-ence has been in Wiltshire, however I look forward to working in the Univer-sity, under Student Services umbrella and with Southampton City Council to ensure we, as a setting, are providing quality care and learning opportunities for your children. Please be aware that my door is always open and if there is ever anything you would like to discuss I welcome the time to meet with you. I look forward to working with your children in this very busy and amazing centre. I would also like to take this time to say a MASSIVE THANKS to all the staff for their professionalism and conduct in this transitional period, they have ALL been very welcoming and supported the children with consistency. They do an amazing job and I am delighted to be leading the team. Please look out for upcoming events such as the Macmillan Coffee Morning (21st October), parent workshops, Christmas etc, and show your support to the Centre.
All the very best, Tony
Please remember to close
the gate at the top of the main stairwell.
Check your child’s peg and
bags regularly for items to take home, and for items which may have been put there by accident.
Tapestry If you use the Tapestry app on your phone/tablet, please can you make sure you have updated to the latest version. Please complete the ’All About Me’ section for your child. Thank you!
We will be having a visit from our photographer at Darmanin Studios here at the Centre from 9am on
Monday 10th October 2016.
If your child does not normally attend on a Monday, they are still
welcome to come along.
All siblings are welcome to come and join in with the photographs
As the winter weather creeps in, if you have a puddle suit or splash suit for your child, please can you bring it in so that your child is able to enjoy playing outside in all weathers. Clothing needs to be named.
In line with our safeguarding policy and procedure, please
be aware that the use of mo-bile phones is not permitted
in the setting.
The safety of the children in our care is paramount.
