What is SAFE?

Characteristics of females aged 15-29 in studied slums
In-migrants: 78%
Education: 51% below primary
Occupation: 33% women employed 50% of them garment workers
Mean age at marriage: 15.61 years
Physically/sexually abused by husband last year: 76%
Unmarried girls physically abused since age 15: 38%
Unmarried girls ever sexually abused: 21%
