We hope you willappreciate these changes and enjoy derRÜCKSPIEGEL in color.
At our February 21 Business meeting, which was attended by at least 20members, a great deal of items wereaddressed, including filling vacantBoard positions and electing a newSecretary. Congratulations to newlyelected Board Member Lisa Soriano, aswell as newly elected Secretary JimSchoen.

Just thinking about all of these excitingevents makes me ready for the daywhen I can remove the car covers, unplug the trickle chargers, and be able
to enjoy some pure driving pleasure.

Atlanta. For five decades, the 911 hasbeen the heart of the Porsche brand.Few other automobiles in the world canlook back on such a long tradition andwith such genuine continuity as thePorsche 911. It has been inspiring carenthusiasts the world over since itsdebut as the Type 901 at the IAAInternational Automotive Show inSeptember 1963. Today it is consideredthe quintessential sports car, thebenchmark for all others. The 911 isalso the central point of reference for allother Porsche series. From the Cayenneto the Panamera, every Porsche is themost sporting automobile in itscategory, and each one carries a pieceof the 911 philosophy.
More than 820,000 Porsche 911s havebeen built, making it one of the mostsuccessful sports cars in the world. Foreach of its seven generations theengineers in Zuffenhausen andWeissach have reinvented it, time andtime again demonstrating to the worldthe innovative power of the Porschebrand. Like no other vehicle, the 911reconciles apparent contradictions suchas sportiness and everyday practicality, tradition and innovation, exclusivity and
social acceptance, design andfunctionality. It is no wonder that eachgeneration has written its own personalsuccess story. Ferry Porsche bestdescribed its unique qualities: “The 911is the only car you could drive on anAfrican safari or at Le Mans, to thetheater or through New York Citytraffic.”
In addition to its classic yet uniquelines, the Porsche 911 has always beendistinguished by its advancedtechnology. Many of the ideas andtechnologies that made their debut inthe Porsche 911 were conceived on therace track. The 911 was committed tothe performance principle from thestart, and motor racing is its mostimportant test lab. From the verybeginning it has been at home oncircuits all over the world, earning areputation as a versatile and dependablewinner. Indeed, a good two thirds ofPorsche's 30,000 race victories to datewere notched up by the 911.
