The Families Agenda
• Prime Minister’s commitment to try to turn around the most troubled families in the country by 2015
• Across Government, measures are being introduced to support these families which include:• Community Budgets• the New Troubled Families Team; and• ESF Support for Families with Multiple Problems

• Support many of the 120,000 workless families in England to move closer to the labour market
• Break the welfare dependency cycle • Reduce intergenerational worklessness by
overcoming fear of employment• Build on the success of Family Intervention
Projects (FIPs)• Supporting families to access local services

DWP Programme Information
• Provision is voluntary and will last for 12 months• Local Authorities (LA’s) identify and refer families• Aim to tackle entrenched worklessness• Support will be available to individual family members• 2 Contract Package Areas (CPAs) across London (East
& West) – Reed in Partnership are Prime Provider in each CPA
• Contracts are for three years• DWP & ESF funded
