DEGREES OF COMPARISSON OF
ADJECTIVE
This is a big ball.
This ball is bigger than the green ball.
This is the biggest ball of the lot.
ADJECTIVES : Degrees of Comparison
When we use adjectives to compare persons or things, we are said to be using degrees of comparison.
Ketika kita menggunakan kata sifat untuk membandingan orang atau benda, maka kita sebut denga penggunaan degrees of comparison.

ADJECTIVES : Positive Degree
The Positive Degree of an adjective is used to discribe a single thing or person. It simply describe the existence of a quality.
Rudi is a tall boy.
ADJECTIVES : Comparative Degree
The Comparative Degrre of an adjective is used to compare two person or things with each other.
RUDIRONI
Roni is taller than Rudi.
ADJECTIVES : Superlative Degree
The Superlative Degrre of an adjective is used to compare more than two person or things with each other.

Robby is the tallest of the three boys.

The adjective ends by “e” then the comparative formed by adding “r”. And the Superlative formed by adding “st”.

adjective ends in “y”, and it has a consonant before it, then “y” is first change to “i” before adding “-er” and “est”.

For some adjectives, the last letter is doubled before adding by “-er” and “-est”

RULES EXAMPLES
We can use positive form to compararison by using “as adjective as”
Mini is as wise as Maman
An adjective in comparative degree are usually followed by “than”
Tina more dilligent than her brother.
Use “the” before superlative degree of adjective.
She is the best student in this class.
An adjective in superlative degree is usually followed by “of” or “in”
She is the biggest girl in this school.Study is the most important thing of my life.
We can’t use double comparatives or superlatives.
Incorect:It is more darker here.

*Do this homework as good as you can.
*My neighbour’s yard is larger than mine.
*She is the most favorite artist.
*Yesterday my mother bought me the most expensive shoes in that shop.
*It is the cheapest bag of all I have.
