HomeworkFifth graders in CUSD are expected to do 30 – 50
minutes of homework a day (Monday – Thursday)A Homework Packet will go home Thursday to be
returned the following Thursday (Parent Signature required)*weekly spelling practice*a place to record reading minutes*may include additional reading, writing or language
practice Math homework will be given out daily throughout the
week.
GradesGraded work will be sent home on MondaysParent signature required weeklyInfinite Campus– parents are expected to check
online gradebook weekly – so there are no surprises
Classwork or homework that receives a grade below 70% shall be turned in with corrections by the end of the week for additional credit. New grade will not exceed 70%
Quiz or test grades that receive a grade below 50% must be corrected and turned back in to receive additional credit. New grade will not exceed 50%.
5th Grade PRIDEEach Monday students receive a new PRIDE
cardThis card is their “ticket” to Fun FridayEach letter is worth 5 minutes of Fun Friday
activityStudents may lose a letter for not completing
homework or breaking class/school rulesParents are notified in writing as soon as a
student loses all 5 PRIDE letters – parent signature required
