CU41, CU42 – Maintain Configuration
Profile
The Configuration Profiles allows us to link
the type 300 class (or classes) to the
configurable material.
But more importantly it controls how our
configurable material interacts.
There are three types of Interaction
Planned / Production Order
Sales Order
Order BOM
These depend on whether you want to
have a sales BOM so you are picking
components from stock, or you plan to
produce using production orders.
BOM explosion can be
None
Single Level
Multi Level
There are many ways the BOM explosion
can occur and will depend on your need.
For example it is possible that you do not
make the configurable material. It
becomes the means to generate a sales
bom. Then some of the components in
the sales bom may themselves be
configurable, or perhaps generate
production requirements.
You can have component availability
activated.
In the demo you will see an Interface Tab.
This tab does not allow you build the
interace here, but to define the name of it,
and control other interactions.
These relate to display, variant matching
(determines a stockable variant), pricing,
whether the configurator starts
automatically etc.
In a later lesson we will create an
interface. This lets you group
characteristics onto tabs. For example a
tab could be ordering the colour and size
of the box. Another tab could contain
characteristics for the type of lid.
