COURSE SYLLABUS in RESEARCH IIIThird Year Level
Course Description:
This subject is an extension of Research II course offered in the Second Year. This is the culmination and application of theoretical concepts and knowledge learned in research. This
subject will guide the third year students on how to conduct a scientific research study according to the rules and standards of the scientific community. In addition, an intensive research paper
writing experience (in synergy with the Technical Writing subject) will help the students to come up with a substantial research paper in preparation for the local and international competitions.
And by building linkages and partnership with other research institutions and laboratories, students are expected to consult to the different experts in the fields to make their learning
experience more meaningful.Course Objectives:
The students are expected to accomplish the following goals within the given school year: Present a significant research proposal to the local SRC; Write a research paper; Perform the experimentation using an appropriate research design; Document the materials and methods;
Visit a scientific, educational and research institutions for content enhancement; Consult experts in the fields for validations; Strengthen linkages and partnership with other institutions for both
contract and non-contract researches; Foster positive values and attributes through research practice; Submit an accomplished research paper; Prepare for an oral defense of the research
study; and Participate to the science fair in the local and international scenes.No. of meeting per week: 2 days

PHYSICS II (Advanced Physics)Course Description:
Physics II is a one year introductory course in physics offered 5 times a week to fourth year high school students of Manila Science High School. The emphasis of the course is to provide
students with adequate problem solving skills needed to prepare them for College Physics.General Objectives:
At the end of the course, the students are expected to achieve the following objectives:1. Understand the basic laws of nature upon which all physical phenomena depend.
2. Describe, explain and implement the sequence of steps in the analysis of a physical phenomenon or problem:
a. Describe the idealized model to be used in the analysis including simplifying assumptions where necessary.
b. State the principles or definitions that are applicable.c. Apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative/ mathematical methods to achieve a solution.
3. Read, understand, and interpret the physical information in verbal, graphical, and mathematical form.
