Cool Spot Story 27

Cool Spot Story 27 (11.02.2014) – Go out + Do good It started off as a spur of the moment decision: „Hey, let`s organize a cool student party!“, my friends and I decided to do something about the somewhat stagnant nightlife of our hometown Bern (Switzerland). After half a year of planning we are soon holding the second party under our new founded label GO OUT + DO GOOD. We donate the whole output of the entries to the non-profit organization Viva con Agua. But I am getting ahead of myself here. Let me start from the real beginning. That summer was significant because when we talked about partying I worried that if my only worry was an unsatisfying nightlife, well that was a luxury. The conversation turned to serious talk about fortune and social responsibility, and in the end we added two and two: It should be possible to go out and do good at the same time!

The idea behind it is just as simple as its name: Charitable donations should remain easy to do but in our opinion they can be more than just a trivial cash discount deduction at the end of the month. Charitable donations can be fun. With Viva con Agua we found the non-profit organization that reflects exactly this core thought. The association successfully gains its donation money with clever invasions in order to sustainably help the 783 Million people all over

the world that are lacking access to drinkable water. As a partner of several open-air music festivals in Switzerland and Germany, Viva con Agua is a perfect example that charity can be a nice spot where people meet and are having a good time together. We not only decided Viva con Agua to be the organization we wanted to support and work with but we also could persuade one of the most popular nightclubs in Bern of our idea, which means that we are now permitted to hold our party on a periodically base. It turned out that an initially small idea is able to change the world in its very own way. Because in the end it`s still about having fun, being young, going out and doing good!
