The first challenge for classrooms is to participate in a Mystery Skype as a way to promote
inquiry in research in your classroom. The purpose is to:
•Make connections to classrooms outside your local area
•To explore curricular concepts in a collaborative, inquiry-based setting
•Collaborate locally by include to your teacher librarians for their in expertise in using
technology with students and completing the research.

Community of Writers

Students join together as grade-alike “Communities of Writers” as a way to promote ELA common core standards. The purpose is to:
•Participate in shared writing projects
•Use technology to produce, publish, and update individual or shared writing projects
•Use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers
•Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development and organization are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.

Story problems engage students in problem solving and give context to the mathematics. By using the student’s curiosity as motivation, math concepts are learned with depth and transference. Join us to explore creating and solving problems by students for students.
