Satra Trailers and Bodies was established in 2001 and brings more than 50 years of experience to the industry.
Schalk van der Merwe Director of the former Satra Trailers and Bodies Pty Ltd initially started his journey in the trailer and body manufacturing industry in 1969 as a welder and three years later as a foreman, at what was previously known as Satra Industries.
It was in 1978 that Schalk decided to pave his own way and in partnership opened the doors toTruck and Trailer.
Together with his two sons, they started Satra Trailers & Bodies where Schalk took on the role as Director and Workshop Manager.
Today -his son Lourentius oversees the current Satra Limpopo Trailers (Pty) Ltd, who started as an apprentice at his father's company in 2001 – Building Trailers, Tippers Bull bars Long range fuel tanks all sorts of special jobs that require something innovative and new earning him his Qualication as a Vehicle Body Builder. Lourentius also build his rst re engine in 2004 and many more there after. In 2013 He joined The Company Protect – O- Burn in Mpumalanga where he extended his knowledge for re engines and special recovery units.
Today Lourentius van der Merwe is the only Director at Satra Limpopo Trailers priding himself in the same workmanship and skill that his father strived for. Along with maintaining high standards of quality and service delivery, humility and honesty will always form the cornerstones of the business.
History
Satra Limpopo Trailers is a well-established business in Limpopo. The manufacturing Facility is located at 14 6th avenue, Industria Polokwane.
The manufacturing facility is 2100 square meters and consists of a cutting, bending, CNC High Denition Prole Cutting, preparation, assembly and spray painting section. SATRA, where possible, supports local businesses in procuring its raw materials (steel), paint, consumables and components for the manufacture and repair of trailers and bodies.
Our customers are mainly Limpopo Province based and use trailers manufactured by Satra to transport their goods to neighbouring countries as well as the rest of South Africa.
Satra manufactures and repairs trailers and bodies for clients in the following industry sectors: Transport, Agriculture, Mining and Distribution.

Satra Limpopo Trailers’s Primary focus is the manufacturing of lightweight Chassis, Tautliners, Mass-side, Flat decks Super links, Drawbar trailers, Tippers, Tankers and various load bodies on any type of truck.
Satra also specialises in repairing of used bodies.
Satra has built 42 Ton Step-deck Transformer Low bed trailers for Anglo Platinum mine, Mobile Pump Stations, Mobile Workshop Trailers as well as a number of re truck and other emergency related equipment.
Satra Limpopo Trailers are registered as manufactures at the department of transport.All bodies are manufactured in accordance with the specications of SABS

Flat Deck Description Specification
The Flat Deck is our second most popular body type.
These can be fitted with container locks, pole pockets and
Rear ramps. Flat decks are generally used for transportation
of bricks, equipment, containers, etc.

Dropside Description Specification
Dropside bodies are Multi- Purpose, used in various industries.
This is our most popular body type, it can transport a variety of
goods. The Sides & Posts are removable.
The Sides can be increased to a height of up to 1m for bulk
material.

or rear mounted.

Cattle / Pig / Goat & Sheep Frames Description Specification
These bodies are purpose built according to customer specifications
and requirements. Generally used for the transportation of pigs,
goats and sheep, double and Triple decks are made to
accommodate the volume of live stock.
Various type of materials can be used to prolong body life - like
3CR12 Stainless Steel floors.
Partitioning inside body provides compartments to sort Live stock.

10 - 16 Cube Description Specification
These tippers are the Heavy to Extra heavy duty use
for loads from 10 ton to 18 ton.
Frontal cylinders are preferred for this application.
Doors are made with scissor action and are low on
maintenance and very well suited to heavy duty applications.
Sandwich floor design and Miller Look.
Cubes: 10 cube up to 16 cube with 4.5m to 6.5m long bodies

Honey Suckers Description Specification
Build to your truck or trailer requirements. Only the best
components are used. Tanks can be made of mild steel
coated or 3CR12 stainless steel. Tank end is dome shaped
and 6mm thick. We make use of specialist to design and
plan our vacuum systems to build a uncomplicated honey
sucker, that can work day in and out.
Can be fitted to Truck or Trailer Chassis of choice

Roll Backs Description Specification
Heavy duty from 4 ton to 12 ton our roll back's are built
with 5 to 8mm floors, we base our design with a sub-frame
to which the cylinder and main hinge point can be fitted.
We use poly stone slider on our inner frames. Ready to use
with delivery form Starbar and chain hooks.
Optional T-bar at the rear end to transport extra vehicle.

Water Tankers
Description Specification
Water tankers can be fitted to truck chassis or built to special
trailers for low or high speed use, from drinking water,
agriculture, firefighting or construction. Water tanks can be
made in different sizes and from different types of materials,
formed from mild steel with epoxy coatings or stainless steel.
We also manufacture flat deck bodies with LDPE tanks which
are multipurpose. Petrol, diesel or PTO hydraulic driven
pumps can be fitted. Heavy duty tanks mount with double
rubber mountings, sub-frames are made to fit tanks to the
truck or trailer chassis.

From potatoes, oranges, sorghum or beans.
Heavy duty and low on maintenance big
loads can be moved depending on the size of your

panels to make it more versatile on light materials

Semi- Trailers are mainly used behind Truck tractors
in 4x2,6x2 or 6x4, trailer are fitted with a king pin
at the front for hooking on to a fifth wheel for
turning. These trailer axles are always fitted at the
back with landing leg to off hook behind the king pin.
