CARLY RYAN FOUNDATION VISIT Yesterday, Tiffany, Cam and Zac from the Carly Ryan Foundation spoke to our
students in Year 5/6 and Year 7 about the importance of online safety. The hour
long presentation was an introductory look at the enormity of the online world;
its opportunities, its risks and the responsibilities of being positive digital citizens.
The session explored 3 themes being self-protective factors, safety and online
challenges as well as resources and where to seek help. With children using the
internet on a daily basis it is important to empower them to make wise choices,
look after their digital reputation and keep themselves safe while navigating the
internet and apps. We would like to thank the Carly Ryan Foundation for visit-
ing us and for providing vital information to help keep our students safe online!
FROM THE PRINCIPAL Congratulations to Joanna Whitehead for winning a position at Rivergum
College at Glossip for 2021! While we will miss Joanna, we know she will be a
valuable member of staff at Rivergum, and be a great contributor there towards
the education of her 5/6 class, as well as be an asset to the wider Glossop
community. At WLPS, we have advertised a teaching position that will close
tomorrow. We look forward to seeing who God may have in store for us to join
the WLPS community.
We are also pleased to announce the appointment of the Pastoral Carer at
WLPS for 2021. Congratulations to Shaz Paschke for winning the position! We look
forwards to Shaz joining our team in this capacity, whilst balancing this
commitment with being an existing member of staff in a Learning Support
role. We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Moira Ganner for all of her hard
work in this role over the past 9 years and wish her every blessing for the future.
Waikerie Lutheran Primary School is a Christ-Centred community equipping each student for life.

MUSIC COUNT US IN
CORNER OF PEACE
Our everlasting God created all things. He is wise beyond our understanding and is the giver of strength and
power to the weak and weary. We learn that in the beginning the Word was the One who was with God
creating all things. Further it was the Word, who is His Son, who provided purification for sins and is the Saviour
of all who come to Him in trust.
Blessings to you all this week, Moira

Hello it’s the School Captains,
This week we are here to tell you about Music Count Us In. Last Thursday we
were one of thousands of schools who participated in Music Count Us In.
Music Count Us In is where schools around Australia all sing the same song on
video. The videos are put together to create a big nationwide choir. Along with
this performance, there were other acts including a group of Year 7 girls playing
boom whackers, a delightful pianist playing Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, a
boppy dance performance of ‘I’m a Gummy Bear’ and a sweet performance
of ‘A Million Years’ by some Year 5/6 girls.
Thank you to our delightful host Darcy Bald for introducing the acts and we also
would like to say thank you to all of the people who participated and helped
out including pianist, singers, boom whackers and the dancers. It was a huge
success and everybody enjoyed themselves. Finally a special thanks to the
incredible Mrs Whitehead for encouraging us to do our very best and for
organising the whole gig.
