  Activity type: Listening for specific words.

 

Vocabulary: Colours.

  Grammar: Present Simple.

  Level: Elementary. 

  Time: 20 minutes. 

1) 

Ask students to write down as many colours as they can. Give them just 30 seconds!

2) 

Play the song. Students note which colours they hear.

3) 

Correct.

4) 

Play the song again. Ask students to listen carefully – how many times do they hear the word “the”?Key:  44.

5)  Give students a copy of the worksheet. In pairs they do the vocabulary activity.

6)  Correct.

7) 

Sing the song together.

8) 

Follow up: Children can draw a picture to represent the song. Older students can write anotherverse using their favourite colour.
