COLLEGE/TEENS
PURSUIT is the revamped, refocused college ministry at the
Belpre Church led by Brett Hower. PURSUIT will not be meeting
until January 19 after Christmas break.
TEENS will be meeting from 5-6:30 p.m. this evening in the teen
room. Guys bring drinks and girls bring snacks. Travis will be
leading the discussion. There will be no evening class next Sun.,
Dec. 29.
WINTERFEST is coming up the weekend of Feb. 14-16 and will
be here quickly. We will be leaving Friday morning, Feb. 14,
from the Grand Central Church of Christ and will return Sunday
evening, Feb. 16. The registration fee of $36 will be covered by
the church. The cost per person will be $100, which covers the
cost of the hotel and the charter bus we are renting and sharing
with the Grand Central Church. Other spending money will be
needed for the cost of food during the weekend, approximately
4-6 meals. Breakfast will be provided at the hotel and the
church will be buying pizza on Saturday night. You may wish to
bring extra spending money for your free time in Gatlinburg or to
use at the many vendors present at the event. Winterfest
T-shirts are available (optional) for $13. Sign-up and pay your
deposit of $50.00 by January 22. A sign-up sheet is on the
office hallway bulletin board. Don’t allow cost to keep you from
going. If money is an issue, talk to Travis. We are also having a
lunch fundraiser on Jan. 19 to help lower costs. Participants at
the lunch will get a share of the earnings!! Other details will be
given during class and group time in the weeks to come.
MINISTRIES
YOUNG AT HEART - Thank you for all of the wonderful help in
delivering the fruit baskets this past week. Your effort and time
was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all who received.
PRAYER MINISTRY– You are invited and encouraged to attend
the Applied Prayer Class next quarter, beginning Sun., Jan 5. The
class will focus on the application of prayer, leading to silent
prayer, emphasizing prayer for spiritual rather than physical
needs.
COURAGE TO CHANGE
Battling difficulties can be draining and may alter the way you
view your circumstances. Instead of seeing the potential of your
life, you begin to feel that you are not special and that God has
forgotten you. His good plan for your life seems more and more
unlikely every time you think about it. However, remember that
his goal for you is always geared for ultimate victory and
success.
LOVE IN ACTION
Love In Action would like to thank all who have contributed gifts,
potatoes and monetary support these past few months to make
Christmas a little nicer for those in need. We do so appreciate
all of the contributions and the hours that many volunteers have
donated this year. We want to take a moment to wish each of
our family here at Belpre a VERY Merry Christmas and a blessed
New Year! May God bless each of you and this church family, as
a whole, in the New Year! Mother Teresa once stated, " It is
Christmas every time you let God love others through you. Yes, it
is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him
your hand!" May we celebrate Christmas year round as Christ
has asked us to!
From our homes to yours -
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Notes:
And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name. And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”
