Army Oil Analysis ProgramPart of a Department of Defense-wide effort to detect impending equipment component failures, improve operational readiness, promote safety, conserve lubricating oils and hydraulic fluids, and monitor lubricant condition through laboratory evaluation of oil samples.
AOAP conserves petroleum resources through application of the on condition oil change (OCOC) policy. Under the OCOC policy, maintenance activities only change oil when directed by an AOAP laboratory.
