The Gift Of Sleep
Psalm 4:8
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe. (NLT)
Have you ever been so desperately tired that you collapsed into bed only to lie awake once you are there? Perhaps our active minds are keeping our weary bodies awake. Or our aching bodies are doing likewise for our fatigued minds. Inability to sleep is not only frustrating, but can be harmful to our health. Though some people seem to get by on little sleep. Napoleon Bonaparte, Winston Churchill, and Margaret Thatcher come to mind. They still seemed to achieve a fair bit despite lack of sleep. For most of us, however, sleep is a necessity. It is a gift from God to us, allowing us to rest, while allowing Him to get on with running the world without our help for a few hours. When we sleep, we are not in control. And that, perhaps, is why some find it hard to sleep. We have to lie awake figuring things out, making contingency plans, worrying about varying scenarios. In this case, sleep is a fundamental expression of trust; a recognition that it is not us but God who has the whole world in his hands.

Andrew Flintoff, a cricketing all rounder, was one of the heroes for the English Ashes-winning cricket team back in 2005. Flintoff excelled with both the bat and ball throughout the Series. Over his test career Flintoff's highest score was 167 and his best bowling figures were 5-58.
In the late 1800’s England had another cricketing great, CT Studd. This outstanding cricketer played both county cricket and played for England. He came from a very wealthy family, was a
sporting great and a national hero. But CT Studd left all of this, gave away his wealth and chose to serve God in China and India. After returning from 21 years in India he felt that God was leading him into missionary work again. So at the age of 56 he left England for Africa. When questioned about the wisdom of giving your life to missionary service CT Studd replied… "If Jesus Christ be God, and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for him."

Walk for FREEDOM
April 1st
, 2012 at 2pm Speers Point
Changing EVERYthing for someONE
Last year at Colour Conference, over 10,000 women were given inspiration to help us to walk for the broken, the hurting, the sisters and orphans. We learned about the heartbreaking injustice being done in the human trafficking industry; the buying and selling of people, mostly women and children, for use in the sex industry.
Over 1million children have their innocence stolen from them every year. A few local women had our hearts stirred and we organized something called the Hunter Walk for Freedom which was small but very successful. This year we are running the event again on April 1st and wanted to invite you to participate and help us promote it.
It is a simple fundraiser: register, get sponsors, show up and walk with us to raise awareness about this issue. All our pro-ceeds will go to support the A21 Campaign, a Christian, non-profit based in Greece, which confronts this issue by rescuing and rehabilitating and prevention through education in Eastern Europe and Asia.
Please go to our website to find everything you need to join or promote the Walk. We also have a wonderful promotional clip

Jesus Calling I am the Resurrection and the Life; all lasting Life emanates from
Me. People search for life in many wrong ways: chasing after
fleeting pleasures, accumulating possessions and wealth, trying
to deny the inevitable effects of ageing.
Meanwhile, I offer abundant Life to everyone who turns toward
Me. As you come to Me and take My yoke upon you, I fill you with
My very Life. This is how I choose to live in the world and accom-
plish My purposes. This is also how I bless you with Joy unspeak-
able and full of Glory. The Joy is Mine, and the Glory is Mine; but I
bestow them on you as you live in My Presence, inviting Me to
live fully in you. John 11:25; Matthew 11:28-29; I Peter 1:8-9
