Handicaps
Official handicaps of 24 or less
Players will be grouped together by handicap system within their age category.
Mode of Play
We will use Stroke Play as a scoring system for this tournament. It involves counting the total
number of strokes taken on each hole during 18 holes on day (1) and 18 holes on day (2), then
combing the two scores together.
The gross winner is the player who has taken the fewest number of strokes over the course of
the 2 rounds.
The net winner is the player who has taken the fewest number of strokes over the course of the
2 rounds after their handicap has been calculated. Net score" refers to a golfer's score after
handicap strokes have been deducted. Put more technically, the net score is a player's gross
score minus the strokes his or her course handicap allows to be deducted during the course of
the round. A golfer may have a gross score of 92 (gross score) being the actual number of strokes
played), but with a course handicap of 9. So 92 minus 9 equals the net score, in this case 83.
