Introduction
The installation of pipe line strainers is essential for the protection of such valuable and important equipment as valves, control equipment, instruments, pumps, regulators etc. Tremendous savings in unit replacement, shut down time and maintenance costs are assured.
Note: But only when the correct size of perforation or mesh is used in the element or basket fitted in the strainer.

Screen selection: 304/316 S/S perforated sheet metal and woven wire are available to 5 micron.

'S' Type Filters Designed primarily for use on gas metering sets, the CLAM range of 'S' type filters allows for mounting in a vertical situation and flow is upward. The declined body section ensures entrapment of contaminants in the sump cover. Maximum pressure: 2500KPa at 121C to AS 1271.

The range of CLAM cast steel compact right angle filters was designed primarily for use on gas metering sets where space is at a premium. Maximum pressure: CLASS 150# Standard construction materials:
Body: ASTM A216 Gr. WCB Casting Bolting: ASTM A354-BD / ASTM A490 Gr. 8 Bolts Cover: Certified Boiler Plate. Cover Gasket: 316 Stainless Steel Spiral Wound & Graphite Filled. Element: 304/316 stainless steel spot welded onto precision machined end support rings.
Features:

Temporary Strainers are primarily designed for short periods of operation; for example during commissioning and initial start up of new or reconditioned process lines to remove any construction debris such as rags, welding rods pipe scale, rust etc., accidentally or unavoidably present within the system. For ease of installation and removal of the strainer; a spool piece of the appropriate length fitted to the Process line would be advantageous. Flow can be either direction; although from a structural point: Flow on to the point is considered by many, to be the better option.

Note: Due to the dangerous nature of this product, please nominate the following when placing an enquiry:

Warning Improper installation or maintenance can cause glass breakage which may result in bodily injury. Always wear safety glasses when looking through a sight glass on operating process equipment.
RECOMMENDATIONS
DO NOT re-use any glass, sealing or cushion gaskets. DO NOT attempt to clean glass or adjust cover plate bolts while unit is in operation. DO NOT use glass that is scratched or chipped. DO NOT bump, impact or scratch the glass lenses.
Once a sight glass has been removed from its mounting in process equipment or a boiler, regardless of the reason for removal, it is highly recommended you discard the glass and substitute a new piece. Used sight glasses may contain hidden damage and present safety risks.

15 – 50mm Flow Indicators and Sight Glasses in bronze The CLAM Bronze Sight Glass / Flow Indicator is fitted standard with Toughened Soda Lime Glass Lenses and a stainless steel vane ( Flap ) to indicate flow of medium; units come standard with vane. VALVE AND SEAT SELECTION
A3 Fitted to MK2 general purpose traps for pressures from 35-1720 kPa where compactness and light weight is important. Low capacity by general CLAM standards.
C2 Low pressure, high volume condensate and air discharge.
D2 Most commonly used valve and seat, because of applicable pressure range 35-1034 kPa. Do not use over 1034 kPa unless condensate capacity demands. Very high air discharge rating.
G2
For pressures in the 1034 to 4137 kPa range. May be used for higher pressures when extra capacity is required. Do not use below 1034 kPa or air-locking may occur.
G2-L Low to medium capacity for pressures to 1034 kPa. High air purging and fast heat-up capability.
J3 For high pressure and super heat service to 10340 kPa and temperatures to 566C. Application-Turbine Manifold and main line drainage. Fitted to MK7C and MK7C/1000 traps only. Do not use below 3100 kPa or air-locking may occur.
G3 Greater discharge capacity than the J3
K2
Fitted to MK10B trap only for pressures from 35-3100 kPa. Capacity rating of thousands of kgs per hour.
