The ChromaBank, which contains 12 ChromaHeartsTM,has a built in ChromaZone to power and drive them.Some ChromaFixtures have a letter suffix. This signifies thefinished colour of the fixture (W = White). Other colours maybecome available - please check with Pulsar if required.

Mains Supply - The ChromaZone works correctly on anymains voltage from 100-240 VAC, 50-60Hz, (self adjusting).Power consumption ranges from 10 Watts to 150 Wattsdepending on the number of fixtures connected and theiroutput levels. A mains cable is provided with an IEC female connectorattached. The other end of the cable should be fitted with asuitably approved and rated mains plug. Note: in somecountries it is a requirement that such a plug be fitted by aqualified electrician.

Start Address Switches - the ChromaZone receives a block of6 channels (option switch 11 down) or 42 channels (option switch11 up) from the signal. The Start Address Switch selects thenumber of the first channel in the block. Dial up the start addressrequired using the Hundreds, Tens and Units switches provided.

12 Way DIL Switch - The DIL (Dual In Line) switch is used to selectvarious fixed colours, chases and chase speeds. TheChromaZone DIL switches take effect when the unit has no digitalinput signal, this allows the unit to function in "Stand Alone" mode. Switches 1, 2, 3 or the first three PMX / DMX channels will set thecolour for all connected fixtures - see front panel printing overleaf.Switches 4, 5, 6 and 7 or PMX / DMX channel 4 can be used toselect from 14 pre-programmed chases - see front panel printingoverleaf. The controller connects via the DIN socket input(s) and the ChromaFixture(s) connect to the “cage clamp” output socket(s) (see lid printing).

The ChromaRange of Products use the WAGO Cage Clamp range of connectors to provide the necessary power and signal to drive each ChromaFixture.
Each ChromaZone controller is supplied with 50m of low smoke and fume ChromaFlex .

A tool is available for mass termination of the WAGO plugs and sockets (see below). Alternatively, a flat bladed screw driver can be inserted into the cage clamp connector and pressed down to open the terminal. The stripped wire is then inserted and the screw driver released to allow the spring loaded cage clamp to firmly hold the wire firmly ensuring a long term reliable connection.

Pulsar’s Chroma Lighting Fixtures contain state of the art, high brightness, high efficiency Red, Green and Blue LEDs. These three primary colours can be mixed together to make an incredible pallet of 16.7 million colours. The LED’s have an expected life of 25,000 hours at full power white but this is greatly increased if the fixture is dimmed or producing coloured light as in normal use.
The pure colours produced contain no Ultra Violet or Infra Red radiation to fade, heat or damage sensitive materials.
Each ChromaFixture requires a +24VDC supply at up to 520mA and three 0 to +10V control signals to control the level of Red, Green and Blue.
These control signals and the low voltage supply may be provided by the ChromaZone Controller which can drive up to 12 ChromaFixtures. For more detailed information see ChromaZone data sheet.
The ChromaZone has numerous chases and effects built in making it possible to achieve fantastic effects without programming. These internal effects can be selected via the DIL switches on the side of the unit in stand alone mode or from a controller using a digital PMX (Pulsar MultipleX) or DMX (Digital MultipleX) signal.
Alterntively, a ChromaPSU2 can be used to provide power for up to two ChromaFixtures and is used in conjunction with any analogue 0-10V controller such as a Pulsar Modulator, Control Desk, Masterpiece or Replay Unit.

Specification
The ChromaPanel is designed for use in a 600mm grid suspended ceiling. It can also be wall mounted or used as a light source under an illuminated dance floor.
The ChromaPanel is not designed to be load bearing. To be used as part of an illuminated dance floor it needs to be under an appropriate structure.
Power Requirement: 520mA @ 24V DC (12.5W) Max.Connection: In-Line WAGO socket terminating 5m of ChromaFlex. Each ChromaPanel is also supplied with a colour coded WAGO socket and plug. Four cable storage clips are supplied for transit.

Connection: Solder pads are provided to keep the size to a minimum. Also a right angle PCB mounted plug is provided that can be soldered into the rear PCB for a plugable connection to the L-P Heart.
Each Low Profile ChromaHeart is also supplied with two colour coded WAGO sockets.
Colours and finishes: Black paint B only.
Care must be taken not to obstruct the air flow around the unit.
This unit can be used in a sealed enclosure, provided that the oenclosure has sufficient surface area to keep it below 40 C in
normal use.
The Low Profile ChromaHeart does not have an incoming air filter like the ChromaHeart. If the air is recirculating no filter is needed. If however air is being drawn into an enclosure, use of an air filter is recommended.

ChromaScape / Ground Mounting Specification
A LED lighting fixture for outdoor / underwater use. If used with a power supply other than a ChromaZone, it must comply with the relevant safety standards.
For your safety the ChromaZone must be Earthed, fed via a Residual Current Circuit Breaker and local isolator fused for the maximum current taken by the load.

If the front bezel of the ChromaScape is removed, the sealing surfaces and gasket must be clean and dry before re-assembly.
Beam Angle: 20 deg. The beam alignment is adjustable +/- 7 deg. within the ChromaScape enclosure. When the unit is ground mounted this enables the beam placement to be adjusted.Optics: Light diffusion filter supplied.

An optional ground mounting kit is available. The cast mounting ring and plastic tube may be cemented into position and have the ChromaScape fixed to the mounting ring. This is done by removing the front bezel of the ChromaScape and using the screws provided, screw the ChromaScape body to the mounting ring. The front bezel of the ChromaScape is then replaced noting that the sealing surfaces and gasket must be clean to give a water tight seal.
Allowing ingress of water into the ChromaScape invalidates the guarantee. Units must be checked after initial installation and periodically for water ingress.

FAs the heat generated by the ChromaFixtures is relatively low, no special precautions are required with regard to normally flammable surfaces.

ChromaFixtures are low voltage units operating on 24V d.c. Without direct connection to the mains supply, they are therefore inherently safe as they operate from less than 75V d.c. as specified in the Low Votage Directive 73/23/EEC

GUARANTEE - 12 months from the date of original purchase. The guarantee is limited to parts and labour. The guarantee is void if the unit is mis-used or repairs are performed by unauthorised persons. In the unlikely event of a faulty occurring, return the unit, with a description of the fault, to your supplier or direct to Pulsar for immediate attention.

Pulsar’s ChromaBank is an LED lighting bar which contains 12 TM ChromaHearts (the LED lighting module as used in the
ChromaLight, ChromaDome and ChromaFlush) and has a built in ChromaZone controller. For further details refer to the ChromaZone data sheet.

Each ChromaBank is supplied with a standard diffuser and a reeded acrylic wide angle lens.
ChromaBank Light Pipe is a 150mm dia. opal acrylic tube that is mounted with the fixing kit on to the front of a ChromaBank. The pipe mixes Red, Green and Blue light together to produce the resultant colour with a wide viewing angle. If the knobs at the end of the ChromaBank are replaced with M6 bolts the light pipes are end stackable.Fixing: Two M4 Posipan screws near the front on the end of the ChromaBank are removed and replaced with the M4x20mm posidrive pan head screws from the fixing kit and used to hold the brackets - with the tabs inwards in position. The Tube is laid on to the fixing brackets and the M6 screw and cup is used with the M6 Nylock to hold the tube in position. Do not over tighten the nut. Remove protective film from tube before use.

Disassembly
1. Remove eyeball (A) from outer ring (B) by pushing eyeball across to compress one of the spring loaded brass pins (C) and pulling eyeball from front of ring. Remove spring loaded pins from eyeball.
2. Remove plastic ceiling clips (D) from outer ring by fully compressing with pliers across slot near to pivot and twisting out, as shown below. The outer ring is now ready for painting.
3. Remove 3x cross point screws and shake proof washers from rear of eyeball. Note construction. The rear cover (F) and filter foam (G) can now be removed. Remove ChromaHeart (H - shown below) from rear of eyeball, by pivoting as shown below but with a slight twist.
The Eyeball is now ready for painting.

2. Fit friction foam pads (J) as shown below. Note that they fit near the rear edge.

3. Fold up white foam at sides and put Chromaheart (H) into sphere (A) from rear. Fit filter (G) and rear cover (F) and then three M3x12 screws and shake proof washers (E).

4. Turn unit over fit six plastic spacers (I) to LED’s in positions as shown, a
Insert reflector (K) noting the position of the top row of LED’s with the centre position missing (X). This is done by squeezing the sides of the reflector to distort it slightly and sliding it in, over the tops of the LED’s. Push reflector down on to spacers taking care to have top of reflector 3mm above top of LEDs. Allow glue to dry.
It may be necessary to bend some of the LED’s to acheive an even colour balance.
pplying a small amount of clear adhesive to the four corner spacers. Do not use Cyanoacrylate adhesive (Superglue) as it ‘blooms’ and produces a white mist on surrounding components.
5. Push in front diffuser (L) with the frosted side on the outside.
6. Put spring loaded brass pins (C) into the holes on the side of the sphere (A).
7. Put one spring pivot into the recess. Using a small piece of card (M) to protect the paint on the inner edge of the ring depress spring loaded pin (1) and push into place (2), see below.
Leave the unit for 24 hours to allow the friction foam to compress to allow the eye to rotate with the correct friction.
