Epiphany is Manifestation Day. It is the day for sharing. It is another day of gifts. It is the Twelfth Day of Christmas. The gift, clearly, is Christ Jesus the Lord. The gift, clearly, is given not just to me, not just to “us”, but also to “them”.
How can I be like God today and manifest some goodness and grace to both us and them?
Prepare for next week: Read and reflect on The Baptism of the Lord (beginning on pg. 86) in the “Living Liturgy” missal.

A week or so before Christ-mas, I asked someone in
Christian outreach how things were coming with the Giving Tree. “This parish is….” began parish volunteer Donna Vaughn. She paused for a few moments. She had so much passion, I worried she might be frustrated. “Beyond words!” she concluded—at the same moment fellow volunteer Angie Zylstra chimed in “generous.” “More than generous,” Donna added. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our charitable efforts, which were listed in last week’s bulletin. A special thank you to Angie and Donna who
coordinated the Giving Tree’s outreach to families here and at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Wyoming and Elaine Vander Baan for collecting socks and toiletries for those in county jail and state prisons. Please join me in also thanking Nancy Benson and her crew for adorning our worship space so beautifully for the seasons, to our liturgical ministers, and to the parish staff who help pull things together with constant support and encouragement from parish volunteer Tony Grandy. Remember — Christmas continues until next Sunday. Keep the spirit alive!

Our prayer list for healing
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT — As we celebrate the Epiphany of
the Lord this weekend, we hear of the Magi’s natural response to com-
ing in contact with the Lord—they immediately paid him homage and
offered their gifts. As Catholic Christians today, we won’t “see”
Christ in the same way the Magi did, but we can encounter him in the
poor, forgotten, lonely, the stranger, as well as in our family, friends,
even our enemies. Christ is in everyone. As stewards, we are called
to respond appropriately, in some way paying homage to Christ in
them and offering them gifts you may have at the time. How can you
better respond to Christ’s presence around you this week in paying
homage and sharing your gifts? by Andy Rebollar, Pastoral Associate for
Parish Life.
