There are two basic categories of Communities: Terrestrial (Land) Aquatic (Water)
These two basic types of community can occupy large geographical areas known as biomes.
Examples of Terrestrial Biomes
Is a biome characterized by a low temperature and a very short period of growing season.
Tundra
Is a biome in which there is too little rainfall to support trees or grasses.
Desert
Is a biome in which the dominant form of vegetation is grass
Grassland
Is a biome with cold winter and warm, moist summer. Taiga
Is a biome in which there is a constant supply of rainfall.
Tropical Forest
Is a biome characterized by hot humid summer and cold winters.
Temperate Forest
Examples of Aquatic Biomes
Is a biome native to or formed by the sea. Marine
Is a biome where water is not too salty to drink. Fresh Water
