Day 1 Friday 9th
October 2015 Depart Sydney or Melbourne on morning flight and evening
arrival in Beijing. We are met and transferred to our luxury
Beijing Hotel.
Day 2 Saturday 10th
October 2015 Today is Semi-Final day at the prestigious China Open. A
combined ATP-WTA event, the China Open is the biggest
tournament on the Asian leg of the WTA calendar. It has fea-
tured Williams, Sharapova, Azarenka, Djokovic and the
world’s best over the past few years.
Day 3 Sunday 11th
October 2015 Today is at your leisure, you have the opportunity to go
shopping at the world-renowned Silk Market. Clearly marked
on the world’s top tourist map, in the eyes of foreign tourists
who rate it on a par with the Great Wall, Forbidden City and
Beijing roast duck. There are 1,600 shops with plenty of bar-
gains to be had. In the afternoon we depart for our match at
the 6th Sense - Potters Wheel International Tennis Acade-
my. The Potters Wheel has 25 courts and is known around
the world with tennis programs designed by Carlos Rodri-
guez, famous coach of Justine Henin and recently Li Na.
Day 4 Monday 12th
October 2015 After breakfast, we take a city tour including Tiananmen
Square and the Forbidden City. From Tiananmen Square we
enter into the Forbidden City, a massive complex that was
the centre of the Ming and Qing dynasties. After lunch, ride a
trishaw to tour the ancient city alleys of the Hutongs and ex-
perience the lifestyle of the local people. Tonight we see the
spectacular and world famous Beijing Acrobat Show. We
then visit the Sanlitun Bar or Wangfujing Street which are
some of the most “prosperous” entertainment streets in Bei-
jing. Every night, the streets are busy with people against the
background of city noise and the luxury of trendy restaurants
and bars.
Day 5 Tuesday 13th
October An early breakfast will be followed by a bus trip to the Great
Wall of China. Today you will experience the splendor of the
Great Wall, the pride of China and one of the Seven Won-
ders of the World. We return to Beijing City and visit the
2008 Olympic venues of the Bird ’s Nest and the Wa-
ter Cube. After we see the trendy and unique 798 Art
Village. The Art Village is like “Soho” and houses a rich artist
community. It is nestled in a 50-year old out of service mili-
tary factory complex with a functional Bauhaus-influenced
design. There are lots of cool art studios and cafes to be
seen. In the evening we celebrate our time in Beijing with a
Farewell Dinner.
Day 6 Wednesday 14th
October In the morning, we catch the bullet train to Shanghai. For
some, today is free for you to catch up on any last
minute shopping or sight-seeing before your after-
noon departure to the airport for your f light home.
