Problem Statement
Children can be sometimes in dangerous zone without
their parents.
The search of a lost child can be stressful and
terrifying.
In Recent years cases of missing children have been
increased.
Project Background
Around 1 million people each year report a case of missing child.
Child safety devices are increasing over time, examples:
1) Mobile phone and smart watch with a GPS tracker:
Developed by Manchester’s University Scientists.
2) miniature watch connected with a GPS tracking.
Developed at the tech. startup hereO in 2013.
The Design
Technologies used
Smartphones Smart Watch
GPS Tracking System Cloud Server
Data Mining
Stay Point When a series of consecutive tracking points spanning a sufficient
period of time are sufficiently close, they form a stay point.
k-Means Clustering 1. Choose k random “means”
2. Group stay points with nearest mean
3. Calculate new means of these groups
4. Repeat 2 and 3 until means stabilize
Pick random means Group points and update means
Regroup points and update means Groups unchanged - finished
Safe Routes
● When the child travels from one safe zone to another repeatedly, a safe route is formed.
● If the child is not in a safe zone and movement strays from established routes, the parent is notified.
Challenges
Detecting safe regions.
Detecting safe routes.
Detecting the life pattern of the children.
Detecting dangerous places.
Data Mining.
Energy efficiency.
Having a long battery life.
Expected Outcomes
Low rate of lost
Children.
Define Safe regions.
Automated Notification
.
Parents’ Peace of Mind.
Movement Mapping.
Safe Community
.
Conclusion
Safe regions, safe routes and the life pattern of the children will be recognized by tracking system.
If a child wander from a safe route to a dangerous route an automated Notification will be sent to the parents.
The children will be protected wherever they are a lone and in danger.
