March 2018
I was remembering a skit, (short play with meaning);that
affected my life. In the skit were a young adult male and
his chest of masks. Every time someone would come to
his home, he would first look out the window and see
exactly who it was. Then before he opened the door, he
would have donned the “mask” that was like the people
or person knocking. Whenever a different person or
group would come a knocking, he would search for and
put on “their mask”. He did this often. I did notice when
he was alone, he would wear no masks. Hmmmm?
What do we do when someone comes knocking on our
door or when we prepare to attend some activity? Do
we don a different “mask” to hide the real us? Are we
raising children with different “faces”? If so, then why?
Why can’t we just be ourselves the way God made us?
We are all in the process of becoming a better ‘us’ (me)
every day. Like the words to the song; “He’s still working
on me, to make me what I ought to be!” Are we not to
be like Christ? Well, yeah! Did He put on a mask when
He met with different people? Well, no!
Ephesians 4:10; “He Who descended is the same also
Who ascended…”.
Hebrews 13:8; “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and
today, and forever.”
I Corinthians 12:4-6; “Now there are diversities of Gifts,
but the same Spirit. And there are differences of
Administrations, but the same Lord. And there are
diversities of Operations, but it is the same God which
works all in all.”(Different home-school families, one
Group, one God.)
I Corinthians 1:10; “… that you all speak the same thing,
and that there be no divisions among you; but that you
be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the
same judgment.”
Philippians 4:2b; “…that they be of the same mind in the
Lord.”(continued next column)

Romans 12:16; “Be of the same mind one towardanother. Mind not high things, but condescend tomen of low estate. Be not wise in your ownconceits.”
We all have our challenges and tests in our lives. These do not give us a pass to act less than weshould. If you think about it for a bit, you willcome to the conclusion that Jesus had a toughtime in life, also. (Words from a song…) ‘Manytimes I questioned certain circumstances, things Icould not understand; and many times in trials, weakness blurred my vision and my frustrationgot out of hand; He never promised that theCross would not get heavy and the hill would notbe hard to climb. He never offered our victorieswithout fighting. But, He said help would alwayscome in time.’
It is not the mountain that is important. It’s the‘climb’! No matter what, we are to be like Christ.
Remember, our children are learning from us!

MOOVING COLORSSubmitted by : Ethan Horn, age 18, 12th grade
Today we will be seeing what food dye does in milk
and why. When I did this experiment it was quick, easy,
and, most important of all, fun.
Materials:
1. A flat pan
2. Food dye
3. Milk
4. Cotton swab
5. Dish soap
First, put your milk in the pan then add your food dye.
You can add as much food dye as you want, just make
sure that you keep them in circular drops. Next, put
some dish soap on your cotton swab and lower it into
the center of your drop of dye. Don’t swirl it around.
Now watch the colors dance.
This works due to milk being composed of water, fat,
and protein molecules. When the dye is put in the milk
it kind of just stays there. However, when the
detergent is added, the detergents positive molecules
zip and zoom around the surface towards any
negatively charged fat molecules. This then pushes
around the dye in any way the detergent is traveling,
Therefore giving it the “mooving” appearance.
