INTRODUCTION
First of all I was required to complete the career folio. Because of interest in Accounting, I
have decided to make a folio of career of accounting. I have produce this folio in less than a
week. I get the materials on the project web site and also some books and articles.
I chose a career in accounting because I was very interested in subjects related to account,
mathematics, and the subject of some others.
Through this folio can I find out more information about the future of accounting after my
graduation later. I can also find out about the history of accounting. If I not finish making this
folio, its certainly difficult for me to understand what accounting really is.
In fact, the field of accounting has many branch. There are financial accounting, management
accounting, and auditing and so much more. It also involves taxation.
In addition, I also know about the trials and challenges that would befall an accountant is that
each day they are faced with stress, depression and tiredness. It is true as they deal with
numbers and money a lot. At last, I found out about the advantages of an employee of the
accounting.
WHAT IS ACCOUNTING ?
Accountancy, or accounting, is the production of financial records about
an organization. Accountancy generally produces financial statements that show in money
terms the economic resources under the control of management; selecting information that is
relevant and representing it faithfully. Accountancy overlaps heavily
with bookkeeping, auditing and taxation.
Accounting is essential to business, and has been called the "language of business"
because it is the means by which businesses communicate their activities to investors,
creditors, and other stakeholders. Accounting that concentrates on reporting to people inside
the business entity is called management accounting and is used to provide information to
employees, managers, owner-managers and auditors. Management accounting is concerned
primarily with providing a basis for making management or operating decisions. Accounting
that provides information to people outside the business entity is called financial
accounting and provides information to present and potential shareholders, creditors such
as banks or vendors, financial analysts, economists, and government agencies.
Because the users of accounting information have different needs, the presentation of
financial accounts is very structured and subject to many more rules than management
accounting. The body of rules that governs financial accounting in a given jurisdiction is
called Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, or GAAP. Other rules include International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP.
WHY I CHOOSE THIS COURSE ?
I choose accounting because I love numbers . From my reading, I found that this career
taught me to be discipline. This is because being an accountant, I must be patient working
with more numbers and money. Plus, I must be accuracy, consistent and be concentrate on
working for not be a careless person.
I also choose this career because I admire this job since childhood. I love to be around
with numbers. That will make me so peaceful and had a higher motivation. I want to take the
challenge and be a successful and accountant someday. Tan Sri Zeti Aziz also is my favourite
idol because she is the first woman being the National Bank Gabenor. I would like to be like
her someday.
Lastly , I choose this career because it is an indoor job. I do not have to heated under the
sun like an architect or an engineer. Although the job is quite hard and need to be concentrate
almost the hours, I can manage the time well.
