2. THE BUILDING IS PARTIALLY SPRINKLERED WITH A WET TYPESPRINKLER SYSTEM. THE EXISTING GARAGE AREA IS PROTECTEDWITH A DRY TYPE SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM IS SUPPLIED BY MUNICIPALWATER AND AN ELECTRIC DRIVEN FIRE PUMP. PROJECT SCOPEINCLUDES DEMOLITION OF THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD FLOORCEILINGS. THE FIRE PROTECTION SUBCONTRACTOR SHALLDEMOLISH ALL PENDENT SPRINKLERS IN EXISTING CEILINGS ANDPROVIDE NEW UPRIGHT SPRINKLER HEADS IN ALL SPACES TOPROVIDE 100% SPRINKLERED PROTECTION THROUGHOUT THEFLOORS. SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED INACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13-2013.
3. THE BUILDING IS GENERALLY MASONRY AND STEELCONSTRUCTION. THE SPACE SHALL BE PROTECTED THROUGHOUTWITH A WET TYPE SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
4. PROVIDE COMPLETE HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS ANDDISTRIBUTION SYSTEM DESIGN UTILIZING THE DESIGN CRITERIAESTABLISHED ON THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. SYSTEM DESIGNSHALL BE BASED ON HYDRANT FLOW TEST PERFORMED BY THEFIRE PROTECTION SUBCONTRACTOR.
5. REQUIRED DESIGN FLOWS:

4. WHERE DOWNSTREAM DEVICES ARE AFFECTED BY THEDEMOLITION WORK THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE NEWSERVICES AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN SUCH DOWNSTREAMDEVICES.
5. ALL DEVICES AND/OR EQUIPMENT REMOVED BY THISCONTRACTOR SPECIFICALLY NOTED AS SUCH SHALL BEINSPECTED BY THE OWNER FOR DETERMINATION OF DISPOSALOR STORAGE AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER. FOR PURPOSES OFPRICING THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME THAT NO DEVICE OREQUIPMENT WILL BE RE-USED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
6. IT IS NOT THE INTENT OF THESE DRAWINGS TO SHOW ALLEQUIPMENT TO BE DISCONNECTED AND/OR REMOVED. IT SHALLBE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS CONTRACTOR TO VISIT THE SITEPRIOR TO SUBMITTING HIS/HER BID TO DETERMINE THE EXACTQUANTITY AND TYPES OF EQUIPMENT TO BE REMOVED.
7. PARTICULAR CARE SHALL BE TAKEN TO AVOID CREATINGHAZARDS ON THE PROJECT OR CAUSING DISRUPTION OFSERVICES REMAINING.
8. ALL EXISTING EQUIPMENT INDICATED TO BE REMOVED SHALL BEDONE IN A NEAT AND WORKMANLIKE MANNER. ALL OTHEREQUIPMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE.
9. REMOVE ALL ABANDONED CONDUCTORS AND EQUIPMENT NOTBUILT INTO THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. WHERE CEILING ANDWALLS ARE REMOVED, ABANDONED WIRING SHALL BE REMOVED,AND ENDS OF LIVE SERVICES TO BE DISCONNECTED AND CUT-OFF.
10. ABANDONED ELEMENTS BUILT INTO WALLS SHALL BE MARKED"ABANDONED".
11. REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS FOR REQUIREMENTS.ALSO COORDINATE WITH OTHER TRADES.
12. MAINTAIN EXISTING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THEENTIRE CONSTRUCTION PHASE.
13. MAINTAIN EXISTING FIRE ALARM DEVICES AAS NOTED AND SHOWNON THE DRAWINGS.
14. DISCONNECT AND MAKE SAFE EXISTING LIGHTING FIXTURES,WIRING DEVICES, DATA OUTLETS, TELEPHONE OUTLETS,MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT AND OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENTNOT BUILT INTO THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION WHERE CEILINGAND WALLS ARE REMOVED (UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ONDRAWING). REMOVAL TO BE BY THE DEMOLITION CONTRACTOR.
15. MAINTAIN EXISTING SECURITY SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITHEXTERIOR BUILDING DOORS AND INTERIOR SPACES WHICH AREREMAINING.

1. THE PURPOSE OF THE FIRE PROTECTION DRAWINGS ANDSPECIFICATIONS IS TO ESTABLISH THE CRITERIA FOR DESIGN,MATERIALS, AND LOCATIONS OF THE COMPLETE SPRINKLERSYSTEM. THE FIRE PROTECTION SUB-CONTRACTOR ISRESPONSIBLE FOR THE FINAL DESIGN OF THE SPRINKLER SYSTEMAND SAID DESIGN AND INSTALLATION SHALL INCLUDE ALLCOMPONENTS TO PROVIDE FOR THE COMPLETE SYSTEM WITHOUTANY ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO THE OWNER. THE SUB-CONTRACTORSHALL VERIFY THAT THE NUMBER OF HEADS SHOWN ON HISWORKING PLANS AND HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS ARE ADEQUATETO PROTECT ALL AREAS OF THE BUILDING AND SHALL INCLUDE ANYCOST FOR ADDITIONAL SPRINKLER HEADS AND PIPING NOT SHOWNON THESE DRAWINGS IN HIS CONTRACT PRICE.
2. THE BUILDING IS PARTIALLY SPRINKLERED WITH A WET TYPESPRINKLER SYSTEM. THE EXISTING GARAGE AREA IS PROTECTEDWITH A DRY TYPE SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM IS SUPPLIED BY MUNICIPALWATER AND AN ELECTRIC DRIVEN FIRE PUMP. PROJECT SCOPEINCLUDES DEMOLITION OF THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD FLOORCEILINGS. THE FIRE PROTECTION SUBCONTRACTOR SHALLDEMOLISH ALL PENDENT SPRINKLERS IN EXISTING CEILINGS ANDPROVIDE NEW UPRIGHT SPRINKLER HEADS IN ALL SPACES TOPROVIDE 100% SPRINKLERED PROTECTION THROUGHOUT THEFLOORS. SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED INACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13-2013.
3. THE BUILDING IS GENERALLY MASONRY AND STEELCONSTRUCTION. THE SPACE SHALL BE PROTECTED THROUGHOUTWITH A WET TYPE SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
4. PROVIDE COMPLETE HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS ANDDISTRIBUTION SYSTEM DESIGN UTILIZING THE DESIGN CRITERIAESTABLISHED ON THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. SYSTEM DESIGNSHALL BE BASED ON HYDRANT FLOW TEST PERFORMED BY THEFIRE PROTECTION SUBCONTRACTOR.
5. REQUIRED DESIGN FLOWS:
A. DESIGN HAZARDS:1. MECHANICAL ROOMS = ORDINARY HAZARD, GROUP 12. STORAGE ROOMS = ORDINARY HAZARD, GROUP 13. OFFICES = LIGHT HAZARD4. CORRIDORS = LIGHT HAZARD
B. REQUIRED DESIGN DENSITIES:
1. LIGHT HAZARD AREAS = 0.10 GPM OVER 1,500 S.F.2. ORDINARY HAZARD GROUP 1 = 0.15 GPM OVER 1,500 S.F.
6. SPRINKLER SPACING (MAX.):
LIGHT HAZARD AREAS = 225 S.F.ORDINARY HAZARD AREAS = 130 S.F.
7. HYDRAULIC CALCULATIONS FOR THE SYSTEM SHALL INCLUDE A10 PSI CUSHION.
8. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE ALL EXISTINGPENDENT SPRINKLERS IN AREAS WHERE CEILINGS TO BE REMOVEDAND PROVIDE NEW UPRIGHT SPRINKLERS TO FULLY PROTECTEXISTING FLOOR AREA. UPRIGHT SPRINKLERS TO BE INSTALLED INARAECCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13-2013.
