During this 120-hour course, you will gain knowledge in all aspects of computer functions, including hardware and software. Hardware components include CPU, peripherals, input/output, storage and networking devices. Software will include Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and their networking capabilities. This course will encompass both classroom and lab activities as you are guided through building a computer “from the ground up”! In addition, this class will prepare you for CompTIA’s A+ certification. 60 Hour Commercial Driver’s License Program (CDL) - CLASS A or BPrerequisite-Must be 21 years of age for class A or 18 years of age for class B, have a valid driver’s license, and must have passed the DOT physical exam and have CDL Permit prior to the first day of class. Commercial Driver’s License- 300 hour Prerequisite-Must be 21 years of age for class A or 18 years of age for class B, have a valid driver’s license, and must have passed the DOT physical exam prior to the first day of class. All students will attend the first week of class even if they already have a permit. Those without a permit will take their permit test, at the DMV, at the end of week 1. (Permit test fee is not included in tuition) Must meet pre-admission assess-ment requirements (TABE). This class is a complete training for the Transportation and Road Construction career path. In this program you will receive extensive training with the following: CDL Tractor Trailer driving and Construction Equipment operation and Safety training on equipment such as; backhoes, loaders, skid steer, bulldozers. 10 hour permit prep, CDL Classroom instruction, and 40 hrs. 1:1 Drive Time. CDL Range Time (backing, docking, hitching). Construction equipment theory/classroom and lab/site time. Loading, unloading and binding of construction equipment, OSHA 10, and Brake Adjustment certification. Flagger Training - Work Zone Flagger Training CoursePrerequisite-None. The Flagger Training Course is a compre-hensive skill-building session that meets federal industry guidelines: the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) guidelines and the ANSI standard ISEA-107-1999. Each student will gain a thorough understanding of flag-ging procedures and the proper use of required equipment. Students will also acquire improved flagging skills from hands-on training, classroom activities and a flagging skills test along with an increased ability to coordinate traffic movement through the work zone. This course is a must for novice construction work zone flaggers in both one- and two-person flagging operations. Experienced flaggers are also welcome to attend this course as a refresher. The adult nail technology/waxing specialty program gives an individual the opportunity to become dually licensed through a New York State approved program. Practical Nursing Program The Practical Nursing program consists of 1,200 hours of classroom instruction and clinical experience at local hospitals, long-term care facili-ties, doctor’s offices and other health-related agencies. The program will qualify you to take the New York State Licensing Exam. Both the Bush Campus in Elmira and the Coopers Campus in Painted Post will offer full-time programs beginning in August 2015. Classes will be held 8:30 AM to 3 PM Monday - Thursday and will continue through July 26, 2016. Fridays will be used for make-up clinicals or for additional help. Our part-time program will be announced at a later date. Financial aid is available for qualified applicants! Potential candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent are invited to call and register for the mandatory entrance assessment. See page 26 for additional information.

Career TrainingNurse Aide Training Program Prerequisite- Must meet pre-admission assessment (TABE) requirements. This is a program designed to prepare the learner for employment as a Certified Nurse Aide. The course includes basic information about the care of hospi-talized patients and residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility. The completed GST BOCES Medical form is required prior to 1st clinical date, plus any additional medical documents or immunizations required by the clinical site facility. The National External Diploma Program (NEDP) The National External Diploma Program (NEDP) is a complete assess-ment program that allows adults to demonstrate transferable skills. It is a competency-based, applied performance assessment system that assesses high school level skills, awarding a traditional diploma so graduates can meet their academic and career goals. It is designed for self-directed adults with life and work experiences and a general familiarity with the computer. NEDP offers flexible scheduling and confidentiality and evaluates 70 competencies in ten content areas including Financial Literacy, Health Literacy, Civic Literacy, Geography, History, Science, and Twenty-First Century Workplace. The program is based on skills outlined in the Common Core College and Career Readiness standards. Student must be at least 21 years old and have minimum TABE Reading and Math scores of 9.0.

Train to be a Practical NurseOur affordable, effective Practical Nursing program can have you ready for your new career in less than a year!

The 1,200 hour program includes classroom and clinical instruction. Clinical experiences are offered at local hospitals, long-term care facilities, doctors’ offices and other health-related agencies. On average, 90 percent of our students pass the New York State Practical Nursing Exam.

The full time program will be offered at the Bush Campus in Elmira and the Coopers Campus in Painted Post beginning in August 2015. Classes will be held 8:30 AM to 3 PM Monday - Thursday and will continue through July 26, 2016. Fridays will be used for make-up clinicals or for additional help. Our part-time program will be announced at a later date.

To be eligible, you must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma and must take the entrance test. We will offer the entrance exam for all of our Practical Nursing Programs. You must register for the test in advance.

Refund PolicyCareer Training ProgramsRefunds for classes canceled by GST BOCES: GST BOCES reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment. If tuition and fees are collected in advance of the start date of a program and GST cancels the class, 100 percent of the tuition and fees collected will be refunded. The refund shall be made within 45 days of the planned start date.

Refunds for students who withdraw on or before the first day of class: To receive a full refund, the registrant must notify the office five business days prior to the first scheduled class. If tuition and fees are collected in advance of the start date of classes and the student does not begin the program or withdraws on the first day, $100 of the tuition and fees will be retained by GST BOCES. Appropriate refunds for a student who does not begin classes shall be made within 45 days of the class start date.* Security guard refund may differ from BOCES policy. All Other ClassesPrior to the 1st Class: 100 percent refund, minus $10 drop fee & nonrefundable registration fee. Thereafter, there is NO REFUND.

Any refunded money will be for tuition only and does not include book or supply fees. Please allow 45 days for a refund.

Senior Citizen discount• If you are a senior citizen 62 years of age or older, please

ask about our senior discounts (applies to specific classes).

Class Cancellations• Specific school closings due to inclement weather will

be announced over local radio stations. Classes will be rescheduled.
