Year 6 performed their musical ‘Dazzle’ with great enthusiasm and even a bit of improvisation! The singing and dancing was beautiful and each child had their own chance to shine. Thank you Year 6 you made us all very proud.
The Year 12 Spanish class was invited to Oxford University to find out more about studying Spanish there. The students also had the opportunity to look around the beautiful Queen’s College.
Year 1 is as busy as ever. In between learning about gardening and farming, the children have still found time to design a lunch menu for the whole school. Look out for this glorious menu later this week!

The audience at the recent music soirée were treated to a delightful array of performances given by some of our talented musicians. It was lovely to hear pupils at all stages of their musical journey.
2013-14 Head Boy, Head Girl
and Deputies are elected
Following exciting nominations, hustings and voting by the whole of the
Senior School, Dr Neill proudly announced the new Head Boy and Girl
for 2013-14 in assembly.
Jacob Cole and Julia Summers received resounding applause from the
audience as they received their badges from the current Head’s Team.
Other nominees, Henrietta Feeny, Tom Freire Camacho and Brett
McCarthy Harrop were all made Deputies and also received their
badges. Congratulations to all the nominees for making excellent
speeches to the School at the hustings before half term – a terrifying
experience for even the most confident speaker – and a particular well
done to Jacob and Julia.

learnt all
about the
Northern
Indian
celebration of Lohri during a visit
from Amberly’s mum. The
children were fascinated to see
Amberly’s special clothes and
taste the delicious Barfi!
The German
Department
recently
treated pupils
to a fun-filled
film and pizza
evening. Our critic’s verdict? “The
film was very, very, very good. I
would definitely recommend that you
watch ‘Kokowääh’!”
Year 6 kick-
started their
river topic
with some
intensive field
work
measuring the flow of rivers and even
testing for chemicals. Many thanks to
Miss Poustie and Mrs Barker for
organising such an informative and
action packed trip.
Junior School Reminders
Over recent weeks it has become
apparent that many children do not
have the correct stationery in School.
Please make sure that your child has
the following (named) items:
A full pencil case (including
pencils, erasers, sharpener, glue stick, fountain pen, spare cartridges, scissors)
a set of colouring pencils
a set of felt tip pens
basic calculator
a 30cm. ruler
a highlighter pen We would also like to remind you
that I-pods, MP3 players and mobile
phones are brought into School at
the owner’s risk and should be
handed to the child’s class teacher at
registration time, to be collected at
the end of the day. Your help with
this is much appreciated.
There are a handful of children who
arrive late to school quite frequently.
Please try to get your child to school
on time as it can be unsettling for
them to miss the start of the day.
Many thanks.
Forthcoming Events Red Nose Day
Silly hats are the order of the day for
15th March! Children in Nursery to
Year 6 are invited to
wear wild and wacky

is running from 28th Feb to 20th

annual Early Years and Junior Book

hosting a variety of fun events and
activities to encourage
reading. This year we
have invited pupils to

5 stars for the Kitchen! Following a Public Health and Hygiene
spot inspection on the 2nd February,
we are pleased to announce that our
catering department was awarded 5
stars and a full clean bill of health!
Congratulations to Miss Wiltshire and
all the kitchen staff.
Hi Vis Jackets
A big thank you to Mrs Gregory from
KS1 for liaising with Barratt Homes
and securing the provision of hi- vis
jackets. The children have donned the
jackets for a number of offsite trips
and they have proven invaluable!

Lucy Bryan in Year 13 won a magnificent victory at the
England Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham in
the Under 20 women’s pole vault. Her incredible clearance
of 4.15m set a championship record and put her easily at
the top of the UK rankings although Lucy still has a personal
best in excess of this, on which she has her sights firmly set.
