Driven by the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the country’s 2030 Vision, growth of the construction sector has been tremendous. By February 2013, Qatar had over $222 billion worth of ongoing / planned construction and infrastructure projects. Major commercial projects include Doha Festival City and Hamad Medical City.

Qatar has about 12% of the total ongoing / construction and infrastructure planned projects in the GCC.

The transportation sector is the government’s primary focus area

58% of the total investment being channeled toward the development of roads, bridges, ports, airports, and railways.

Key projects in this segment include the development of Doha Metro, a new international airport, and the Abu Dhabi–Qatar Causeway
