Bryan   population   is   currently   just   over  77,000;   combined   Bryan/   College   Station  population  is  nearly  173,000    Bryan   is   diverse:   43%  Anglo,   36%  Hispanic,  17.6%  African-­‐American,  1.7%  Asian    In   addition,   the   foreign   born   population   is  significantly  above  the  state  average    Bryan   is   young:  Median   resident   age   is   28  (compared  to  the  Texas  median  of  41)      Bryan   is  poor:  Estimated  per  capita   income  is   around  $17k/  median  household   income  is   $34k   (compared   to   the   Texas  median   of  $48k)      Bryan  continues  to  have  many  un-­‐churched:  Only  41%  identified  themselves  as  religious  (compared  to  49%  U.S.  who  were  affiliated  with  a  religion/  denomination)    

 Bryan  is  part  of  an  educational/  sending  hub:  Bryan  is  right  next  to  both  Blinn  College  as  well   as   Texas  A&M  University,  with   a   combined   full-­‐time  enrollment  of   nearly   60,000  college  students  between  the  two  schools
