Brunei Programme for School Senior Leaders

BPSSL is a program designed by NCTL specifically

for school leaders to develop their personal and

professional skills consequently improving stu-

dents’ academic achievements. BPSSL comprises of

blended learning approach with workshops and self

-directed learning. It also includes access to online

resources and e-networking.

In March 2015, Brunei Darussalam’s Ministry of Educa-

tion (MOE) in collaboration with the National College for

Teaching and Leadership (NCTL), United Kingdom and

the Institute for Leadership Innovation and Advancement

(ILIA) Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), launched the

Brunei Programme for Senior School Leadership (BPSSL).

MOE recognizes the need for School Leaders to be sup-

ported and guided. Subsequently, BPSSL is eventually

introduced.

By the end of BPSSL, participants are equipped

with skills and knowledge from five core leader-

ship modules which are Developing leadership,

Leading teaching and learning, Leading people

and effective teams, Leading and managing the

organization and finally, Leading and managing

change. Although the contents of these modules

were based from extensive international re-

search, NCTL consultants designed the modules in

such a way that it addresses the needs of Brunei

School Leaders.
