do divulgatori scientifici e giornalisti
zione. Però, tutto è trattato con maggiore candore e
lievità, proprio come deve essere l’universo nuziale.
Banditi i fondi scuri, che spesso appaiono sulle pas-
serelle haute couture, abbiamo voluto rendere tutto
nizzative dell’evento. Auguriamo, quindi, buona
lettura a chi già ci conosce e speriamo apprezzerà i
cambiamenti e diamo un caloroso benvenuto a chi ci
sfoglia per la prima volta.
D espite the recent statements of pseudo-scientific spreaders and journalists hun-ting of new scoops, the Maya hadn’t
ever said that the world should end in 2012, butthat we had started a new era of the astronomic ca-lendar which they prepared, probably much betterthan the previous. Therefore, we adapted to thisperiod of change presenting a new Book ModaSposa dedicated – we hope – to the future gold era.The fundamental part of the haute couture and prêt-à-porter fashion shows that we presented and ofour photographic service remain at the centre ofour magazine, because our readers are rightly inte-rested in these documents. However, everything isdealt with more candour and lightness, just as thenuptial universe has to be. Banned the dark back-grounds that often appear on the haute couture cat-walks, we wanted to make everything more luminous:not by chance, who saw our project as a preview af-firmed that this is the “Bride more Bride” we haveever published. Moreover, an important change isthat we decided to enhance with extreme clearnessevery section; indeed, our magazine isn’t dedicatedonly to fashion, but includes jewels, honeymoonsand design. Every theme was separated from theother with opening pages reproducing the magazine'smaster head. In addition, we decided to insert awedding favour special to enhance this industry, which has been a bit neglected by the weddingworld. Finally, the change, of which we are proud:the beginning of the collaboration with different ex-perts, a true pool of consultants, from the weddingplanner to the beauty consultant, who will give ustheir precious tips on how to organise the differentsteps until the wedding day. We believe that theseinnovations will be appreciated, in particular, byfuture brides who are often a bit lost facing the or-ganisational concerns of the event. Therefore, wewish a pleasurable reading to the people who alreadyknow us, hoping that they will appreciate ourchanges, and welcome warmly who will browse ourpages for the first time.

T he wedding day everything must be per-fect, but above all the bride’s look is inthe limelight. On that occasion, every
woman wants to show the best of herself andappear like in a long desired dream. The whitedress is protagonist as well as the coiffure. “Thecut and style of the dress are fundamental”, saysChristian Colombo, the famous brides’ hairdresser.“A dress with a beautiful neckline needs gatheredhair to highlight shoulders and neck. A side chignonslightly falling on the shoulder is fashionable andfitting. On the contrary, a high-necked dress isideal even with loose hair”. The face should everbe visible: a skilful hair stylist will take care of thecoiffure’s volumes to obtain a harmonic and well-proportioned face. In Colombo’s opinion, it’s betterto leave aside coiffures with fringes or side bands, which cover a part of the face. The bride’s facecould be hidden in many of the wedding photographs.Possible treatments such as highlights or streaksmust be done at least ten days before wedding, be-cause the best result is obtained after 3 or 4 wa-shings. With strong hair, backcombing is sufficientto give volume, but with thin and brittle hair, it’simpossible to solve the problem at the last minute. It’s better to solve it in advance (if we have enoughtime) and to apply regularly nutritive and stren-gthening treatments for some months. The hairstylist will complete the coiffure with the accessorieschosen together with the bride, after having seenthe photograph of the dress and having performedat least one test.

forme e i cromatismi intensi.
creare espressioni floreali inedite, geometrie vegetali
che reinterpretando forme e volumi creano sculture e
oggetti di design. Scomponendo gli elementi botanici si
raggiunge l’essenza vera di ogni fiore.
I wish I could get married every week so Icould arrange a different kind of weddingevery time. That is not possible so I will try to
interpret every bride-to-be’s dream with things I love. Here I will offer advice and new ideas and covercertain topics in depth with the complicity of all youbrides. The real magic starts with the choice of venue. The venue, either for me because I have to imagine itas the theatre of the event or for the couple who willexperience it in the first person, has to arouse aunique emotion. Once the venue has been chosen wewill make a film together that will be an everlastingmemory for the bride and groom. Every corner willreveal how it should be decorated for the receptionand suggest what might take place there, permittingme to put together the frames for every girl’s dream.A wedding is an emotional experience for everyone. Therefore, flowers are a necessary and fascinatingpart of the setting whether they are simple or sophi-sticated. I will choose them for their meaning, theirscent, their shape and colour. My florist has designedarrangements to be worn, to decorate the church, thereception and the dining tables. Twisted and whitenedbranches have been used as the basis for novel floralarrangements, natural geometries whose shapes andvolumes create sculptures and objects of design. Thetrue essence of every flower is revealed in the de-composition of its parts.

Bianco totale e linee scivolate: le
collezioni firmate Dalin e Vinnì
nascono sotto il segno della semplicità.
Una semplicità che indica uno stile sofisticato,
rivelato dai particolari unici e raffinati, quali i pizzi e
le applicazioni. Frutto di una produzione artigianale
e di lavorazioni fatte a mano, rigorosamente made in

Book Sugg esti on Invitati on
sullo schermo, immagini e canzoni in tasca!
giusto connubio fra antiche regole e moderne abitudini.

By now, we haven’t anymore the emotion of a letter in the true post box: a new letter foryou! Just for you! And not for you too, together with all the otheraddresses in the agenda. Even in a period when the weddinginvitation cards are sent via text messages and the announcementsfor the friends via Facebook, we shouldn’t forget the rules, passedon generation-by-generation, which make unique the wedding dayalready from its preparation. The traditional set of the weddingannouncement and invitation cards could surely seem anachronistic, above all when the future weds live no more with their originalfamily and will announce personally their wedding. But there areexperts in this field such as Francesco Pettinaroli, who willsuggest the right combination between old rules and modern uses.Behind the wonderful Piazza della Scala of Milan, in Piazza SanFedele, since 1881, the historic Pettinaroli workshop with itsprinting atelier has linked its name with the excellent weddings inItaly ([email protected] - tel. 0286464642/86461875, photo 3).In front of the church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Milan, thereis the Fabriano Boutique, a name that since 1264 has been the sy-nonym of quality paper. il territorio nazionale, questo storico marchio, oltre alla varietà nella
Poco eleganti in
lerate) nelle spedizioni in campo lavorativo. Lo stampato potrebbe,
inoltre, sembrare agli sposi freddo e impersonale.
tecnologie, possono essere riprodotte all’infinito ([email protected] -
su FB HETRE Atelier di papier - tel. 0291768042, foto 1). Sempre
privata a noleggio.

… the wedding announcement card isn’t an invitation to the party. But who received the announcement can attend the rite. If theceremony is dedicated to a few family friends, it’s sufficient not towrite the wedding time.
… the tradition says that the weds’ parents announce the wedding oftheir children specifying the place, in addition to the day, the month, the year and the time, when it will take place. Below, the addressesof the families and the one of future weds.
… the wedding announcement cards without invitation can be sentonly a week before the ceremony. When the envelope includes the in-vitation, it has to be sent four or five weeks before.
… it’s with an additional card that the friends are invited for a toast,a dinner or a party for the weds. The invitation card must be put inthe same envelop of the announcement and will be written on thesame paper, with the same characters and colour. It will be in aslightly smaller size.
… the invitation must specify the names of who invites (the parentsor the webs themselves), the date and the time as well as the place ofthe party. It will be sufficient the formula “at home”, except of forthe occasion or due to little space, we chose a public place or aprivate home to rent. Below the address and the telephone numberwith the abbreviation RSVP.
… depending on the time, the guests should understand the type ofinvitation. In case of doubt, we can specify “for a toast at the webs”or “for a cocktail in honour of the weds”, etc.
brand, in addition to the wide range of different papers, offers theprinting of the wedding announcement cards, invitations andthank you cards. Among the different items: the watermarkedpaper from the Secolo XIII line, the Minerva laid paper or theround machine-made paper from the Medievalis line, producedsince 1904, with untouched borders obtained with manual pullingaway of the water yarn, ideal for wedding announcements and in-vitations, to make in calligraphy with letterpress and inkjet printing(www.fabrianoboutique.com, photo 4). If the modern etiquetteallows using pre-printed cards, the tradition still wants that thename and address of the addressee must rigorously be handwritten on the envelope, despite the high number of addressees.Indeed, the pre-printed labels, which are useful (and accepted) forbusiness letters, aren’t elegant in case of wedding. In addition,pre-printing could seem to the weds too cool and impersonal. Therefore, it is advised to write by hand, as in the past, the entirewedding announcement, entrusting a calligrapher with it, if thereisn’t sufficient time or we don’t have a good hand. The modern in-terpreter of this ancient trend is Consolata Anguissola d’Altoè, oneof the most demanded, in particular by great fashion brands andnational archives, due to her versatility in the choice of calligraphiesthat today, due to the new technologies, can be reproduced to infinity([email protected] - on FB HETRE Atelier di papier - tel. 0291768042,photo 2). Following the wave of the new do-it-yourself, the weddingannouncement even more creative and personalised if made by theCentro dell’incisione, with headquarters in the oldest farms facing theAlzaia del Naviglio in Milan: the weds, with the patient guide of GigiPedroli, exceptional engraver, create their announcement on a metalsheet and then print them by the old hand press, paper sheet by papersheet, for the entire number of guests involved ([email protected],tel. 0258112621, photo 2).

una sezione destinata all’haute couture
capacità sartoriali e artigianali, negli abiti nuziali
riescono ancora a raggiungere vette inavvicinabili da
parte della moda usa e getta. Ecco, in sfilata, quindi, i
ottenute; e infine, protagonisti assoluti, i pizzi e i
ricami, naturalmente realizzati a mano.
I t’s the dream par excellence and in a magazinededicated to bridal fashion, a section for hautecouture can’t lack. Even though the Haute
Couture catwalks, both in Paris and above all inRome, lost much sparkles and appeal; on the onehand, belittled from the modernity of prêt-à-porterand, on the other, impoverished due to the unstoppableloss of sartorial and artisanal skills, but in terms ofwedding wear they are still able to reach inaccessibletargets compared with disposable fashion. So we findon the catwalk the key points of this specific niche ofthe fashion world: the richness of the materials used, from silks to crystals and gold or platinum yarns, theskilful fabric cuts and the architectonic constructionsachieved and, finally, the absolute protagonists: han-dmade lace and embroidery.

Every woman looks wonderful with a dress signed bySarli: and even after the death of the Master, theHouse continues to distinguish itself due to its qualitycuts and volumes, between architectonic structuresand sartorial inventions. Whether she wears the sirenmodel to underline the silhouette or the skin-tightcorset with flared skirt, in smooth or preciously em-broidered fabrics, the bride will be unforgettable.

Christian Dior

E very young woman looks attentively to thecatwalk features on the internet and browseswith eagerness the magazine’s pages to see
how the stars dress. So, it’s obvious that also whenthey have to organise their own weeding, they take in-spiration from the prêt-à-porter catwalks to selecttheir bridal dress. Indeed, even if for shopping they goto the companies dedicated to the production of bridaldresses, and it’s improbable that they address directlyto a fashion house, seeing the latest season’s proposalscould be the right way to find good ideas. So we offera range of the items made by the most importantfashion designers for spring/summer: sometimes theyare models expressly designed for the wedding day,but others, garments that can be interpreted for thisoccasion, even if originated for a daily use.

vogliono compiere clamorosi errori.
“A nd now what should I wear?” Thatis the decisive question, which tor-ments the wedding guests. And not
wrongfully. Indeed, it isn’t easy to choose the suitabledress for a wedding party. There are many rules tofollow in order to not make a huge mistake. First, never wear in white colour, because this tone is ex-clusively for the bride. Second, never wear blackdresses, because this colour is considered, at least inthe West, a sign of mourning; therefore, it isn’t surelya good omen on occasion of a joyful event likewedding. Third, consider attentively the type of event:for example, for a day event you can’t wear an eveningdress. Finally, a fundamental bon-ton rule: do notwear too flamboyant dresses, because of it’s the bridethat must be the absolute protagonist in that day andnobody has to dim her beauty.

il matrimonio: invece no!
simpatico spunto.
M any make much confusion speakingof men’s formal wear. Sometimeseven the industry operators are sur-
prised. Indeed, often we think that a dark suit, maybea tuxedo, is perfect for wedding: on the contrary, itisn’t! First of all, black is absolutely forbidden for awedding ceremony for both bridegroom and guests:grey and blue are the suggested colours for the men’sformal suit. Second, the tuxedo is an evening suit;therefore, suitable for the after wedding party, butnot for the rite, whether religious or not. With this inmind, in the following pages you will find also manyprovocative proposals: exaggerations for runway(starting from the turban), but they can offer us someclever staring point.

riuscire a rappresentare l’importanza dell’evento in oc-
Two interlaced hands to symbolise the in-dissoluble join of wedding: the weddingfavours must have not only intrinsic quality
and value, but also they must represent the impor-tance of the event, during which they are given.Giuseppe Bucco, owner of Lineasette, company ofthe wedding favour industry, which is clearly againstthe tide, believes all that. Indeed, the sales registera good trend, despite the difficult period, and thewedding favours represent a good percentage ofthe production, which in general includes homewareand wedding list. That’s due to the love and thepassion transferred by the founder’s words, butabove all to the peculiar material used: fully vitrifiedstoneware. “When I, together with my friend andpartner Flavio Cavalli, established the company in1977”, remembers Mr Bucco, “we decided to dedi-cate to unique material and processes, and thathas been a winning choice”. Our fully vitrified sto-neware is made waterproof by firing it at high tem-perature (1200°C). The coating consists of claymixed with metal oxides, colourings and meltingagents with siliceous sands, which give the objectsa peculiar pitting effect. “We are the only usingthese techniques, therefore our objects are unique”.Moreover, every creation is processed with care, each is packed separately in a case that protects itswholeness. Over time, a team of top-level collabo-rators has been established: international designerswho with their creativity contribute to create thedifferent lines of objects, all characterised by greatharmony and balance. In addition, number seven, which was chosen by the founders in the Seventiesas their lucky charm, achieved the expected successof the Lineasette wedding favours. A success thatcontinues, above all in this period that the coupleswant to give their friends something personal whichcan remember them their wedding, but with a pro-found meaning for the receivers too.

A very wide literature (both on-line anddedicated magazines), the recommenda-tions of your relatives, the suggestions
of your tour operator, and the tips of your colleaguesand your close friends will support you, step by step, torealise that dream – perhaps already desired as a child– your “Honeymoon”. A travel arriving at the end; themerited relaxation after an often hard path, precededby the wedding lunch, the ceremony, the invitations, theselection of the dress, the premise, the wedding gift andthe Church or Town Hall... And therefore, we want thatour honeymoon is a long relaxation, far from all thosetasks that, even if enjoyable, can trigger a certainanxiety. The honeymoon has many values: it must bethe synonym of “perfect travel”, the start of a new lifetogether with your partner and the best memories toldby the weds when back home. Indeed, after the photo-graphs of the ceremony, it’s the most seen and enviedsouvenir by relatives, friends and colleagues. In otherwords, the honeymoon is much more than the simpleidea of travelling. It can be a complete relaxation afterthe hard work made and the one that we will have to dowhen back home: sun, sea, amusement, a non-crowdedtropical island and long periods being only two, enjoyingto be a couple. I suggest the central or southern islandsof the wonderful archipelago of the Caribbean Sea: An-tigua, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Nevis,Anguilla, and St. Barth. Or an ideal mix, the seacombined with trips in site to satisfy the will to make abit livelier the tour and to enjoy themselves a bit. Isuggest the Island of Cuba or the Caribbean Mexico, which offers the opportunity to enjoy of wonderful seasand extraordinary landscapes with naturalistic, historic, cultural and human characters. Or, why not?, a journeyto discover and meet, rich in adventures and emotionsimmersing completely in a “live culture”, mixing thepresent habits with a glorious past. I suggest CostaRica for the lovers of nature, Guatemala for a plungeinto a fascinating past where architecture, culture andhuman history are mixed together, or the Rocky Mountainsin the western side of the United States to taste the ine-briation of the huge US spaces. There are hundreds, thousands places in the world where to live happy daysduring the honeymoon, in both West and East, in the

Buon viaggio!
Nordic countries or in Africa, from the Atlantic Oceanto the Pacific Ocean or at the Indian Ocean, where youcan find islands and atolls where the time seems to havestopped. You are spoiled of choice. Therefore, the bestadvice is to entrust an expert tour operator with the or-ganisation of your honeymoon who, with his consultancy, skills and capacity to listen your desires, will suggestthe best and most suitable destination for you. Therefore, choose a tour operator with high experience and kno-wledge of the destination able to offer all the guaranteesbefore, during and after the journey. The guarantee tooffer a good product, insurance and legal guarantees, and the use of the best suppliers on the tourism market:only a good consultant and a skilful tour operator cantransform your dream into a nice reality which will beremembered and thought again in the future. A goodtour operator, expert of the destination, will suggestyou the best season, the best hotel and the most suitabletour, in addition to construct a “made-to-measure” tourdepending on your needs, budget, time and “desire totravel”. But the best that I can wish is the following:wherever you will go, any type of tour you will choose, make that the quote by Fernando Pessoa “Travel is thetraveller” will transform into a concrete and livelyaction. During the tour with your partner, you shouldn’tbetray yourself: don’t choose places or trips that youdon’t like really, be original and “true” in your selection, don’t try to imitate a travel made by your friends, butthat you don’t feel suitable for you. It’s your honeymoon. It’s your travel. And I hope that your eyes –your eyes inthose of your beloved, like in a virtuous play of mirrors– will reflect themselves without leaving aside the eyesof the women, men and children you will meet aroundthe world. Travelling in the world with eyes in love isthe most beautiful way to do it, to know and to understandthe diversities that make this world delicate and diver-sified, but appealing and rich. Also during the honeymoon,be attentive, responsible and aware travellers: be fasci-nated by otherness, try to not leave any trace, make thetour you have already dreamed when a child rich in co-lours, sounds and scents of the places you visit, butalways sustainable and in the respect of environment, landscapes and the populations you will meet.Have a nice trip!

L’itinerario “All American East Expe-
della nuovissima attrazione multimediale “Creation of
grande salto. A seguire, uno sconfinamento in Canada
in servizio, e l’interessantissimo Smithsonian Institution’s
a New York, trasferimento ad Antigua, presso l’“Her-
mitage Bay”.
raglio Nelson: queste attrattive hanno valso all’isola
l’appellativo di “gioiello delle Piccole Antille”. Ex
giorno dell’anno”, come sottolineano i locali.
Of the range of honeymoons offered by
tour operators the USA and the Carib-bean is a classic and which in fact
never disappoints. However, Press Tours has addedan extra touch of magic: transport from one desti-nation to the next in a private jet. The “AllAmerican East Experience” itinerary, with helpin Italian throughout the trip, offers a visit to Nia-gara Falls, including the latest multi-media at-traction “The Creation of Niagara Falls” in 4-Dwith real splashes of water and then the IMAXTheatre to see legendary daredevil stunts acrossthe falls. Follow this with a hop across the borderto discover Toronto in Canada and a visit to thetop of the CN Tower, the highest communicationstower in the world. Then a trip to Pennsylvania, famous for its Amish settlements, where you willhave the opportunity to eat a typical supper ofthis religious community, prepared with fresh, locally grown farm produce. Then visit WashingtonD.C. and its environs, including the famous Arlin-gton Cemetery famous for its illustrious gravesand the many soldiers who have died for theircountry and then the fascinating Smithsonian In-stitution’s National Air and Space Museum, whichhouses the largest collection of aeroplanes in theworld. Then New York and a transfer to the “Her-mitage Bay” in Antigua. Crystal seas and beachesof white sand, hibiscus, orchids, giant bamboo, coconut palms and the historic ruins of AdmiralNelson’s naval base: all this has led to the islandbeing named the “Jewel of the Lesser Antilles”. Itwas a British colony and is frequented by a preva-lently Anglo-Saxon élite and it has a staggering365 beaches: “one for every day of the year” asthe locals will tell you. However, for those whowant even more, just 40 kilometres away is itsbaby sister, Barbuda, a tranquil, unspoilt and vir-tually unknown island. Here all that breaks the si-lence is the lapping of the water and the singingof the birds so together with the azure sky and co-lours of luxuriant vegetation you will have thesensation of being in a corner of paradise.
