mail has traveled. The present law limits the
prosecution of this crime to the place where such lewd literature is deposited in the mail, he explained.
In a letter to the leaders of both houses of Congress, Lama stated that the real crime involved is committed at the point of receipt of the mail rather than at the point of mailing. It is at receipt where the actual damage to morals is done, and the adverse effect on our young people occurs, he said.
"One of the weaknesses of the present law is the inability to adequately enforce the statutes in the courts. The current law is weighted heavily in favor of the effender rather than the individual offended," Lama stated.

THE PROBLEM . . . Ventriloquist Jimmy Nelson who is seen regularly all over the TVDials as the Nestle spokesman has a probelm on his hands —or rather, on his knees! His two "ventriloquial assistants," Danny O'Day arid Farfel are in the midst of a huge feud and Jimmy doesn't quite know how to handle it.
Danny O'Day, the brash self-assured young man has always been the attention-getter in the Nelson act, and he thrived on it. Since they've been doing . the Nestle commercials, however, something strange has been happening. Farfel, the sad and plaintive sounding dog has suddenly become the darling of the TV set. Children love to imitate his underplayed "chooooocolate," followed by a click of the jaws —they send in for replicas of the caustic canine and have been writing him fan letters by the carload.
The result of this sudden switch in affection from Danny to Farfel is that Danny just can't take it. He sulks, refuses to talk, and worst of all is developing an inferiority complex. Jimmy has tried to build up his part and his confidence but apparently Farfel's school of under-acting has captured the imaginations of the TViewers. Jimmy is sending out an SOS to all his fans and hopes they will help him solve his problem. He wants everyone who sends a fan letter t6 Farfel to add a

Scouts Plan Annual Trek
Two local boys are among j the more than 100 Brooklyn Boy Scomuts who have already signed up to attend the National Jamboree at historic Valley Forge, July 12-18, it was! announced this week by borough chairman C. Wesley May-trott.
They are Stephen Baymack of 346 Oakland street, and Frank Schiszman of 70 Dupont street.
The National Jamboree is a mammoth get-together of scouts from every state and many foreign countries, all united in a demonstration of the spirit and skills of scomuting.
More than 50,000 scouts, 1,500 of them from New York City, will erect a 1,500 acre tent city on the same ground where George Washington's ragged, frozen and hungry troops spent the winter of 1777-8. *.
The nation's newest temporary "city will teem with excitement. Boys from all walks of life will live together, exchanging skills, swapping home town products and learning about the customs and traditions of many sections of the nation.
The National Jamboree will also have an international flavor. Living with the American boys will be some scouts of other lands, invited to represent their nation's scouting, organization.
In a ceremony involving 50,-000 candles being lighted at the same time, Brooklyn Scouts will join the entire encampment in rededicating themselves to go "Onward for God and My Country" in the final evening, July 18

THE RETORT . . . When Otto Preminger was auditioning girls for the "St. Joan" part in his new flick, he got dozens of self-assured chicks who thought they were just right for it. One gal marched in, faced, Preminger and passionately whispered: "The voices told me I'm Saint Joan.'*
