LOCALEpiphany Gallery & Gifts- Mekenna Malan
Its surprising how many hidden gems inOgden go unnoticed: one of these placesbeing the Epiphany Giftshop. Its obvious thatthe destination is a tad eccentric the outsideof the building is covered in colorful graffiti, and its always caught my attention when Ivedriven by, but for some reason Ive nevergone inside. The store is home to a plethora
of local artpieces, handmade jewelry, andpeculiar knickknacks. Walking through thedoor one is met by an enormous blackbearskin, the aroma of expensive incense, and a mess of unconventional treasures. The first time I went into the Giftshop I didntbuy anything, purely because of the reasonthat there was so much to look at. I couldntdecide between the colorful paintings, exotic
rings, or earrings made from genuine butterfly
wings. I would definitely recommend that some
venture to the Epiphany Gallery when they are in
need of buying someone an interesting and uniq
gift, if youre in need of one-of-a-kind lightswit
covers, or if you run out of E-juice, if youre into
that kind of thing. All their E-juice is made in the
USA, plenty of diferent flavors, and advertised f
only five dollars.
The Giftshop specializes in not only local art item
but unique items from around the world on my
latest venture I found an authentic vintage Swiss
music box, crafted from porcelain and painted
meticulously. Not only are the finds at Epiphany
fascinating, but they are inexpensive as well: wit
the general gift between 10-30 dollars. Ill bereturning to the Giftshop soon, if not only for th
reason to simply look around.
Epiphany Gallery & Gifts is located at 2047 Harri
Blvd, Ogden, Utah. Like them on Facebook to
browse through some of their new additions.

POETRYFathers Voice - Jack WilliamsWith words not so often spokenIn a tone that seems slightly brokenEvery syllable and phraseBecoming critical in the strangest of waysAnd every word, you make yourself speakNo matter how weary, no matter how weak
Interpretation is often times hardLeading to frustration, which you soon discardEvery moment I attentively listen to your
spoken symphonyIt slowly heals the broken part of meIf I try to explain people ask ifIm okayI wish you could speak forme, youd know what to say
If it ever seems like we aretraveling downhillThen we must act as if weare doing so in free will
Because you and I follow the steep courseWhile you lead, I listen to your voices strongforceAnd every night I come home waiting to listen
The Replay- Jack WilliamsThe twilight sky shines full and brightSome might saySo is perceived the half empty glassIn another waySo am I, surrounded by so many
People and things to keep it awayBut the stars are so far apartAnd the glass has shattered to my dismayLoneliness seeps through the cracks slowlyAnd my words feel like a horrible clicheAnd the light eventually reaches usFrom our heavenly neighbors, with such delayAnd when the distance is realizedI put up a false displayAnd you and I shatter, rebuild, and continue thereplay
How To Create- Mekenna MalanOnefoot in the road, the other in the Milky WayWith tattered shoes and smoked out brainsWith beaten hearts and weary eyesOthers idolize and sympathizeThe broken chalk and dripping paintGaze dreamily at the mess you madeThe petals wilt down one by oneThe beast is not contained but stillSomewhere beyond the gypsy glassThe future is seen, though moving fast
Unable to catch up and claim your placeIt should be yours, but you lost the raceSo bury yourself in selfish desireEverything consumed by the fireAnd find that though the smoke is thickIt makes you gag, it makes you sickDeath is the one thing to abstainAnd all beauty reaps itself from pain.

MUSICKanye West, Yeezus-Jack WilliamsThe ego-centric rapper Kanye Wests newestalbum, Yeezus, is his first album since thecritically acclaimed album My Beautiful DarkTwisted Fantasy, and had high expectations. While the album is enjoyable, it falls short ofthe hype it received. It is in no way better thanWests previous albums. The lyrical genius ofhits such as Runawayand All of the Lightsare not comparable popular songs from thenew album such as New Slavesand Black
Skinhead. Kanye does do a fantastic job inthe beats on Yeezushowever, and they areas good if not better than the beats on MyBeautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. His lyricscontinue to be outrageously egotistic (I am aGod) which I personally love. It is his identityas a rapper to be this way in every aspect ofhis life, which is one of the reasons he is soentertaining. All in all, Yeezusis a good Albumand deserves a good listen. But dont take myword for it. Find out for yourself.
Tyler The Creator, Wolf -Jackson KerbsOdd Future, Wolf Gang, Flog Gnaw, FreeEarl, Wolf Haley. Kill them all. Tylers backand salty as ever on WOLF. Released twoyears after his ride to fame on his successfuand original record GOBLIN, WOLF is thethird album from Odd Futures founder andcreator. You can expect the usual angry andabsurd lyrics on WOLFwith the exception oa grown up and professional side of tyler.WOLF is full of nuances of sloppy synth wo
and abrasive horns strung together in tune, creating something raunchy but sincere.Confused with progressing his music style,Tyler is confused on which direction toprogress in music. He states this in manyverses for example in the song RustyAnalog fans are getting sick of the rape,Tron cat fans are getting sick of the lake, Buwhat about me b****? Im getting sick ofcomplaints, But I dont hate it when Imtaking daily trips to the bank. This record mostly covers his life after thefame and fortune and relays the problemsthat come with it. Tyler explains how his lifehas changed and how it has become workAnd is no longer the playful experiments of pocket synth in his bedroom late at night. The fans, critics, and friends now expectsomething serious. Tyler is sick of the fameand his fans obsession with influential trackfrom goblin and alludes to Yonkers on manytracks like Colossus "Yonkers, Yonkers, Imsick of hearing about Yonkers. Im glad that worked. I attacked and I conquered. Overalthe album is worth listening to, and is in myopinion, Tyler's best work.
Vinyl Isnt Dead -Ian CaseyRemember in the 1930s when vinyl wasreally the only way of listening to recordedmusic? Of course you dont, but what is vinylto society today? A way to actually listen tomusic, a way to make friends, or just a way tospend an absurd amount of money on music?! Most people who have actually put alot of time, and money into there sound set upwill argue that vinyl sounds better than acompact disc, or an MP3 download. Sure, Illsay that I like the sound of vinyl more thanother forms of music given some awesomeequipment. When it comes down to it, its justan opinion though.! What is cool though, is spending yourmoney, knowing its going to support thatartist, and then having something physical

and real, that you can hold, ruin, protect, whatever. Pressing the download button ishard to compare, to going to your localrecord store, and finding one of your favoritealbum and its artwork 12 inches big. Beingable to go home, open it up, look at thesleeve art, if any, or a double LP open upthe gatefold and check out the sweet art
work in there. Itss a pretty fun andsatisfying thing to do.! I think when it really comes down toit though. Physical music is a great way tomeet new people with same interests, havesomething to talk about, and also to listen tothe music I guess. So, whether you care forphysical music or not. Try out a live musicperformance, theyre cool.
