Ottawa
May is Bike to Work Month
The goal of the month is to encourage people to cycle to work for fun fitness and the environment!

Did you know?
In Ottawa, the average commute is 7.8 km and one-third of us travel less than 5 km to work, yet only 2% of employed residents bike to work.
Cycling is a convenient, fun, healthy, and cost effective way to travel!

Emissions
Transportation is a large contributor(about 33%) of GHG emissions in Ontario, 80% of which originates from road-based transportation.
But pollution is not the only consideration. An incredible amount of productivity is lost each year due to congestion.
