International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), represented by a gutsy futsal team, recently won its first Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Futsal Cup championship.
ICTSI stamped its class all throughout the tournament, which was held at the MVA Gym in Makati City. The team played consistently well, outscoring all the teams while producing a solid defensive division on the back end of the court.
ICTSI’s Mickael Cardoso was named Most Valuable Player and Player with the Most Goals after scoring 13 in the tournament, while his teammate, Juan Carlos Golez, was the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.
The 3rd PSE Futsal Cup brought together 84 players from various PSE-listed companies. The tournament was divided into two groups with four teams each. After the elimination round, two semifinal games were held. The two losing semifinalists battled in a playoff for third place. Lastly, the finalists competed in the winner-take-all championship game.

ICTSI Foundation supports sports programs of school partners. ICTSI Foundation, Inc. (ICTSI-FI) rolled out its Sports Development Assistance Program by donating various taekwondo gears and equipment to Tagoloan National High School in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. Among the items donated were protective head and body shields, kick pads and rubber mats. Before the donation, members of the taekwondo team suffered injuries due to the lack of proper equipment. Despite this shortage, the Tagoloan National High School taekwondo team still won several gold medals in various inter-school competitions in the district, regional and national levels. ICTSI Oregon sponsors Fil-Am convention. ICTSI Oregon, Inc. (ICTSI Oregon) proudly sponsored The Council of Filipino American Associations of Oregon and Southwest Washington’s (CFAA) 7th Biennial Convention, which showcased 15 local Portland Filipino American associations. The goal of the CFAA and this convention was to promote understanding and knowledge of the Philippines and the Filipino-American community by assisting and advising various Filipino American organizations on how to advance the educational, historical, literary, and cultural aspects of the Philippines and its people. During the course of this day-long event, locally owned Filipino businesses and organizations hosted informational tables, which highlighted their services and products. Throughout the day, everyone in attendance enjoyed the entertainment and educational programs hosted by various convention groups. The highlight of the convention was the dinner-dance featuring delicious Filipino dishes. It was followed by a dance contest, which was won by Eric and Vivian Tadeo, friends and supporters of ICTSI Oregon. Eric is also the Chairman of the Council of Filipino American Associations of Oregon and Southwest Washington whose group has embraced International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) first venture into the United States in Portland. Both Eric and his wife Vivian introduced and welcomed ICTSI Oregon staff to the local Filipino community who treat them like family and consider them as true friends.
