BATH — Beres Construc-tion Co. is a general contractorthat builds exquisite single-family custom homes withbeautiful architectural designsand the highest quality mate-rials, according to Gary Beres,owner and president of thecompany.

Beres Construction also hasexperience in building lightcommercial and retail proper-ties, subdivisions and equestri-an facilities.

Beres said his father, JohnBeres, started the company in1950, concentrating mostly onspeculative home constructionthrough the 1980s in the Akronarea, when it was thriving dueto the tire business. He addedhe started working for the busi-ness when he was a young boyand began full time in 1966.

Beres stressed the companyhas the diversity of experienceto do a variety of constructionwork.

“We have been associatedwith high-end constructionthrough the 1990s, but we do acomplete range from $350,000and up. Our niche is pleasingpeople and service. We takecare of the little things to makesure that we maintain the Berestradition of doing it right.”

Most recently, Beres Con-struction built homes in TheReserve at Waterford develop-ment in Bath, which is gearedtoward empty-nesters andyoung professionals, as wellas in the communities of Cop-ley and Richfield, according toBeres.

“Now that the economy hasslowed down some, we arediversifying and adding moreremodeling work,” said Beres.

Some of that work has beenfor previous customers in“Beres-built” homes, but alsofor customers who are look-ing to stay in their homes

longer rather than move. Beres Associate Rob Eck-

road, who serves as projectcoordinator — creating detaileddrawings, estimates and propos-als — joined the company afterworking on the supply side ofthe industry. He brings remod-eling work experience and is aCertified Aging in Place Spe-

cialist (CAPS) through theNational Association of HomeBuilders, according to Beres.

“Whether it’s altering,remodeling or updating, we areable to do it all,” said Eckroad.“We can make your home saferso you can remain in yourhome longer.”
