    BE MINDFUL OFYOUR HOME ENVI-RONMENT

2When you areattending your classvia video call, beaware of what others cansee and hear. "Informfamily members that yourlive class is about tobegin, so that they too arecareful about how theyare dressed up and thatthey should not talk loud-ly in the background,"suggests etiquette guideSunainaa Haq.

    MUTE YOURMICROPHONE

3Being on mic isgreat for saying'hi' to your teach-ers and classmates, andin contributing to thediscussion. However, remember to mute youraudio, after saying hello.More important, themicrophone should be onmute mode, when theteacher is taking thelecture, as backgroundnoise can be distractingto others attending theclass.

The coronavirus pandemic is still rag-ing, but museums are already gather-ing testimony and objects to rememberlife under lockdown. “It's such an extraordi-nary experience,” Beatrice Behlen, senior cu-rator at the Museum of London said. Among the items collected so farare a pot of homemade jam and a makeshiftrattle that used to accompany the weekly ‘clapfor carers’ across the country. The museumis also asking people to record how they feelabout their homes, which are now being usedas offices, classrooms and gyms.

OTHERS NOT FAR BEHIND In Sweden, the Nordiska museet inStockholm, is currently collectingchildren's reflections of how theirdaily lives have changed and howthey see the future In Vienna, a photo of a birthday inconfinement, and a kiss through awindow pane are part of 1,800 contri-butions, already collected by thecity's museum

    We can Progresseven during Uncertainty

Every morning dawned in theusual manner with humanbeings carrying out their cus-tomary activities without therealisation of how much de-

terioration we had already caused to ournature and environment until one daylife came to a standstill and the entirehuman race was left baffled at the un-certainty of future due to COVID 19. It’sbeen more than forty days now to thelockdown and we are sad witnesses tothe deserted roads, desolated malls ,empty school buildings, locked officesand consequently a crumbling econo-my. Nonetheless, I feel, as an educatorour role has assumed significance as weare dealing with the young minds whowould perhaps be hugely affected withthis state of emergency.

So, being the head of an institutionI along with my team of teacherschalked out a planner and digital timetable for our students to keep them mo-tivated and handle their academic anx-ieties. An assembly schedule was alsoadumbrated to ensure their progressand also satiate their psychologicalneeds. Whether it’s a subject like Mathsor language like Sanskrit or any othersubject to talk of, every teacher is car-rying out her duty with commitmentand devotion and making the use of tech-nology in the best way. PT teachers aresending their recorded videos to en-courage the students to stay fit. The par-ticipation of the students not only in ac-ademic activities but also online com-petitions like singing, dancing, speech, news reading, graffiti, recitation etc. hasbeen overwhelming. It’s heartening to

see them posting their videos and wait-ing eagerly for the results. The appreci-ation and commendation being received

from our parent community is itself areassurance that we are in it togetherand together we will come out of it.
