5. 90kg Rice Challenge Working jointly with Netherlee the Parish & Beyond Committee have agreed that we will take part during Lent with the 90kg Rice Challenge. 90kg is the amount of rice a farmer in Malawi has to sell to enable him to send a child to secondary school for a year and so the participants can directly see that their buying decisions are helping provide a better life for those in some of the poorest communities in Malawi. On Monday 11th March Netherlee will take delivery of 90kg of rice from Malawi. From Sunday 17th March the white rice will be available for purchase in the vestibule here at Stamperland at £3.00 per kilogramme bag.
