Each year the City of Kettering celebrates theNeighborhood Pride awards in recognition of residentialand business property owners who have gone above andbeyond to improve and impeccably maintain theirproperties. In 2016, more than 300 nominations weresubmitted and reviewed by our Neighborhood Pridevolunteer committee. All winners will be recognized byMayor Patterson at the City Council meeting onSeptember 27, 2016. KETTERING CITYCOUNCIL MEETINGS
Kettering City Councilmeets the second andfourth Tuesday of eachmonth at 7:30 p.m. in theKettering City CouncilChambers, 3600 ShroyerRoad.
Every City Council meetingoffers an opportunity forpublic comment, bothregarding pendinglegislation and othermatters. Council membersgenuinely appreciatehearing from our citizens.

HOW YOUR TAXDOLLARS ARE SPENT
The City of Ketteringwants you to know howyour tax dollars are spent.
The construction of the multi‐use path and replacementof drive approaches on Stroop Road will be complete incoming weeks. The resurfacing of the roadway will bethe final step in the project and should be complete bythe end of November.
In early September, Montgomery County will begin awater main replacement project on Shroyer Road. TheCity of Kettering is coordinating closely withMontgomery County and the Kettering City Schools onthis project which is expected to take 6‐8 weeks.Following the completion of the water main project,Vectren will be installing a gas main under the walk onboth sides of Shroyer Road. It is anticipated that thiswork will only require curb lane closures. The City ofKettering will be milling and paving Shroyer Road in thesummer of 2017.
Both of these projects will require shifts in traffic flow,so please watch our website, Facebook page andTwitter for the latest traffic updates.
DELCO PARK POND UPDATE
Earlier this year the Delco Park pond was drainedsubstantially in order to complete improvements to the

The City of KetteringBoard of Zoning Appeals is
pond edging. While the work on the pond is nowcomplete, the lack of rainfall has delayed therestoration of water levels. Because of the drought, it isanticipated that the water levels will not fully return tonormal level until 2017. As a result the City of Ketteringparks department will take additional measures toensure the maintenance of the pond area.
UPDATE ON CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATIONS
Fire Station 32 at 3484 Far Hills Avenue is fullyoperational and is surpassing expectations with regardto meeting the needs of the community.
Construction of Fire Station 36 at 4745 HempsteadStation Road is complete and in the final stages ofpreparation before becoming fully operational inSeptember. In addition to being a 24/7 fire station, thisfacility will serve as Fire Department Headquarters,Emergency Operations Center, and our Backup Dispatchand Data Center.
Construction recently started on Fire Station 34 at 2575Woodman Drive directly south of Tenneco.
Fire Station 37 will be located at 1300 West DorothyLane. The planning and design of this station isunderway. Construction of this station is expected tobegin during the summer of 2017.

PRCA FALLACTIVITIES GUIDE
Construction is underway on the Prugh Woodsdevelopment located at the intersection of DorothyLane and Prentice Drive near the Kettering RecreationComplex. The initial work will involve the clearing ofthe property to allow for construction of the accessroad and preparation of residential lots for homeconstruction. The bulk of the heavy construction shouldbe complete by the end of 2016, with the constructionof new homes to continue in to next year as the homesites are sold.
The Prugh Woods development will include constructionof a new access road to the Kettering RecreationComplex from East Dorothy Lane, which will be namedPrugh Woods Drive. A multi‐use pedestrian/bicyclepathway will be constructed along Prugh Woods Drivewith a connection to Westcott Drive.
