Dear Parents/Carers
Following a short, yet jam-packed half term we are all looking forward to enjoying the Spring sunshine during next week’s half-term holiday. Just a reminder that for parents who have children in classes from Reception to Year 6 (except 3HP), we look forward to seeing you at your allotted time on Monday 25th February for our parent consulta-tions. Please can I kindly ask, that you help your child’s class teacher keep to the 10 minute window for meeting with you. We understand how precious this one to one time is with your child’s class teacher, and how, as a proud parent, it is lovely to talk about your child, however to ensure that parents who have later appointments are not waiting around please be mindful that each meeting needs to run to time. Thank you.

Humphries scored in the following game. We were placed in 3rd position overall.
Well done boys!

made a super start to the cross country season. More races to follow after half term.

Brainbuilders
Completing homework activities gives you an idea of the expectations of your children and it
really helps reinforce learning that takes place in the classroom. We expect all of our children to
complete their homework on a weekly basis - here are the class results for last week’s homework.
95% of KS2 children completed their Brainbuilders last week.

Baby News
Congratulations to Mrs Price and her family on the safe arrival of baby
Charlie last week!
Mum and baby are both doing well.
KS2 Swimming
The current Y4 swimmers will continue after half term and swim every Wednesday
morning until Easter. After the Easter holiday there will be a swap for the
remaining Y4 children to swim weekly during the summer term.
Y5 afternoon swimming remains the same after the half term break.
Exciting News!
We are now proud to be a National School Breakfast
Programme School.
The NSBP is funded by the Department for Education and delivered by a
partnership of two charities, Family Action and Magic Breakfast. The
programme is built around a simple core aim: to ensure that no child is
too hungry to learn. Together, we can remove hunger as a barrier to
learning for every child in school.
It is proven that a healthy breakfast leads to improved concentration,
behaviour, punctuality and attendance.
What will The Willows be offering?
After half term we will be running ‘Classroom Bagel Breakfasts’. Children
will arrive in their classrooms at the usual time and help themselves to a
portion of a warm, buttered bagel on arrival (EYFS and KS1 are offered a
¼ bagel and KS2 ½ bagel).
PLEASE NOTE: Classroom bagels are not replacing your child’s breakfast
as children are still expected to have their usual breakfast at home.
Running late for school one day? Don’t worry as there will be a basket of
warm bagels in the main reception area should your child need one.
