Assist FM is the Association for all the Facilities Management providers within Scotland’s 32 Local authorities. This covers provision of school meals and council catering (including some leisure outlets, museums and galleries, and function catering for larger events)

The Commonwealth Games Promotion
The Culinary School Games….
The promotion will fall into three distinct areas:
1. Local Authority promotion and competition
2. Scottish School Pupil recipe competition
3. Educational downloads
Local Authority Promotion and Competition
This will involve the creation of Commonwealth
Countries’ main meal recipes.
How it will work….
The local authority would create a recipe for one of their second teams:
•Aberdeen City would create a recipe for Cameroon or the Solomon Islands
•North Ayrshire would create a recipe for Nigeria or St Helena
•Glasgow has not been allocated a second team so they would create a Scottish recipe.
How it will work….•Recipes Judged by ASSIST.
•All recipes will feature on an electronic recipe book on
www.scottishschoolmeals.co.uk website.
•The top ten will compete in a ‘cook-off’
•The cook off will take place at The Cook School Scotland March 2014
•The top three will be given Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
•Prizes to be confirmed
•Filmed - Scottish School meals ‘YouTube’ channel

Scottish School Pupil Recipe Competition…..
•Interaction is Key - through www.scottishschoolmeals.co.uk and www.gameonscotland.org
•Open to all pupils in Scotland
•Enter their commonwealth recipe into a competition
•Prizes - win an ipad mini – (prize numbers dependant on sponsorship).
•The Best 10 Recipes will be featured on a special pupil’s recipe section of the Commonwealth recipe book.

•British Council/World Food organisation involvement – primary and lesson plans for International School Meals week.

Clydes RecipesAs a precursor to the event Glasgow 2014 will feature 10 recipes on their website – Clyde’s recipes – with a link back to www.scottishschoolmeals.co.uk.
