1. Introduction
This document will introduce the Safety Equipment Review Committee (SERC) roles and
responsibilities in ADCO. As well as identify all the HSE equipment evaluated and approved
brands/models by SERC that can be used in ADCO. Moreover, This documents also includes all
the minimum specifications including the international standards of all the HSE equipment
required for ADCO, this information is linked by the UPG and MESC no's to ensure that it is fully
integrate into the current Supply chain management systems such as e-registration, commercial
directory etc...
This is a live document and will be updated in a yearly basis mainly to update the newly
approved brands/ models from SERC and in reflection of the commercial directory.
2. Aims & Objectives

Key Description
1 Name of the Equipment
2
Unified Product Group (UPG): Is a unified number that identifies the main category
under which that specific product falls under, which is used commonly across the major
ADNOC Group companies. This is mainly used to identify through ADCO e- Registration
System who are the pre-qualified suppliers that can provide this specific equipment.
(see Appendix 13.3 for all related UPGs and their description)
3
Material and Equipment Standards & Code (MESC): Is a unique number in ADCO
MAXIMO system that represents that specific equipment including all its details (i.e.
minimum specs.). This is mainly used during raising a price agreement or a purchase
order for buying the specific equipment through MAXIMO.
4 This is the minimum specification identified by ADCO for that specific equipment.
5This identifies the specific model name/no. and its brand name (manufacturer)
approved by SERC after technical evaluation.
6This image is only to support the reader in visualizing the equipment mentioned and
doesnt certainly reflect the detailed specification.

5. Safety Equipment Review Committee (SERC)
The SERC was formed by the VPHSE and approved by the CEO mainly to increase the number of
approved brands and models of HSE equipment that can be used in ADCO, and by default
increase the number of suppliers providing these brands to promote competitive bidding as well
as giving the chance for different suppliers to provide their best products in the market.
The SERC main role is to evaluate new HSE products ensuring it meets ADCOs minimum
specifications and standards.
5.1 SERC Charter
The committee is governed by the latest charter below which was approved by the CEO on
11/12/2011. This charter identifies the committee members, committee roles and
responsibilities and mode of operations.
The members of the committee are representatives from all assets and functions; Operations
representatives, Drilling representatives, Engineering &Projects representatives, General
Services Division representatives, Fire & Rescue Representative as well as the option of inviting
when required any subject matter expert.

5.2 SERC Process Map
Safety Equipment Review Committee (SERC) has developed a transparent, auditable and
systematic process that governs SERC operation in regards of HSE equipment pre-qualification,
SERC Operation and HSE Equipment Pre-Qualification Process Map, as shown below,
identifying the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders, the process starts from the point
the Vendor applies for a portable HSE equipment through ADCO e-registration System until it is
technically evaluated and updated in the ADCO Commercial Directory and the Updated HSE
Equipment List. (See appendix 12.4 of the technical evaluation form)
