Customer’s Challenge

Testingofweldingequipmentisverysimilartotestingoftransformers.Bothhavemainspoweredprimary,ironcoreandcasingandlowvoltagesecondary.

Typicallythesetypesofunitsaretestedasasequence,thefirsttestfromprimaryironandthesecondonefromsec-ondarytoiron.

Insomecasesthesetwotestsarereplacedwithonehighervoltagetestdirectlyfromprimarytosecondary.

Whenusingonlyonetestwecannotknowhowthetestvoltageisdividedbetweenprimarytoironandsecondarytoiron.Incaseofmodernelectronicinvertertypeinstrumentthiscanbeevendestructiveforelectroniccomponents.

FinerohasdevelopedadoubleoutputhighvoltagetesterFST-210includingalsoaPE-continuitytester.Thistestercanprocess2highvoltagetestssimultaneously,bothtestvoltagesarefreelyadjustableandhaveowncurrentmeasure-mentandacceptancelimitsettings.

OutputvoltagesarerectifiedtogiveDC-output.ThisisimportantwithinvertertypeinstrumentshavinginternalEMC-filterswithhighcapacitors.TheDC-testvoltagepreventshighcapacitiveleakagecurrentthatmakesitpossibletomeasurerealleakagecurrentcausedbybadinsulationorworkmanshiperrors.
