SAMPLE MESSAGES FOR SENIORS
Dear Parents,
The Talisman staff is in the early stages of production for another 300-plus page, all-color yearbook. Every year dozens of parents and seniors purchase an ad in the yearbook. In these messages, parents often recall fond memories and congratulate their seniors, and friends celebrate the great years they’ve had together. Parents provide baby or childhood photos and sometimes current photos. In other words, these ads are a great way to congratulate seniors for reaching this milestone.
How can you purchase these ads?Again this year, we are asking parents to submit ads online. It helps the staff with organization and ensures that no original photos are lost. Allowing parents to pay with credit cards is also very convenient. At the yearbookforever website, you have two options:
1.) submit digital photos and a message that the yearbook staff will later design into an ad.
2.) submit a parent-designed ad — usually made in a program such as Photoshop or Illustrator.
Other information:
* The yearbook staff is happy to scan original photos for parents lacking the ability to do this.
* Photos must upload as a JPEG, PNG, or TIFF. Images cannot be low resolution. PDFs cannot be uploaded to the yearbookforever website. (To submit a PDF, pay for the ad online, check the box that says you won’t be submitting photos with the ad, and then email the PDF file to yearbook adviser Mike Tyler.)
* Be sure the ad blocker function on your browser is turned off while submitting. Ignore the “community upload” button and click on the “create my personal ad” button instead.
* All proceeds help the publications program at Saratoga High School, including the cost of printing the Falcon newspaper, which is more than $1,000 per issue.
* We very much hope parents meet the priority deadline of Friday, Dec. 13, but we will continue to accept ads — at a higher price — until Jan. 17. All photos and copy must also be turned in by this time. The only two ad sizes offered are half page and full page.
* We plan to email page proofs to all buyers in February and March.
* Please submit all items at one time: photos, message and payment. This is much easier and more efficient for the staff and reduces the chances or errors happening.
* Questions can be directed to yearbook adviser Mike Tyler. Email is usually the best method.
