Anative of Campos do Jordão,Brazil,AnaAbranteshasappearedasasoloist and chamber musicianacrosstheUnitedStatesandBrazil.Asanavidorchestraplayer,shewasamemberofthe Mississippi Symphony Orchestraand Meridian Symphony Orchestra,performing with renowned artistssuch as Renee Fleming, ManuelBarrueco, and Itzhak Perlman.At theUniversity of Georgia, Ms. Abranteshas served asthe principal cellist ofthe ARCO Chamber Orchestra,theUniversityofGeorgia'sSymphonyOrchestra, and the Hodgson StringQuartet.Ana is theprincipalcellistoftheAthensSymphonyOrchestraandacorememberoftheMaconSymphony

Orchestra.Ms.AbranteshasherSuzukiteachingcertificationandusesthisasthebasisforherteachingmethod.Shecurrentlyholdsastudioand teachesat theUGACommunityMusicSchool.Ms.Abrantesisalsopassionateaboutperformingavarietyofmusicalstyles.ShehasperformedwiththeBrazilianpopbandRoupaNova,andispassionateaboutpursuingdiversemusicalopportunities.Ms. Abrantes holds a Bachelor of Music degree in cello performance from theUniversityof SouthernMississippi, aMasterofMusicdegree in celloperformancefromtheUniversityofGeorgia,andisadoctoralcandidateincelloperformancewithaminor inmusic theoryat theUniversityofGeorgia.Abrantes'principal teachersincludeAlexanderRussakovskyandDavidStarkweather.
